Chapter 8
Sam awoke to sunlight streaming through the window and the most delicious smell surrounding her. She squinted her eyes open and was about to push herself out of bed when a deep groan startled her. Oh my God Chance was still lying next to her; in fact he was practically lying on top of her. One of his long legs was slung over both of hers with an arm tucked around her waist and the other beneath her neck.
She slowly rolled over to face him and she found that he just moved with her. She had never in her life been this close to a guy before in such an intimate way that she so felt comfortable with. Facing him, she felt rather apprehensive until she looked at him more closely. Her heart softened and she found her initial panic ebbing as she watched him sleep.
He looked so relaxed and serene with his brown hair all mussed and untidy but in such an appealing way that she wanted to touch it. His handsome face seemed even more attractive and breath taking when sleeping.
Almost of its own accord her hand reached out to brush the soft hair off his face. She thought of their kiss last night and for the first time in a very long time she found herself excited about what her future might bring her.
His big brown eyes blinked at her disoriented for a moment before a sleepy smile lit his face. He tugged his arm from behind her neck and reached out to touch her face tenderly. Her heart melted as she smiled back at him.
"Hi Sammy." He said his voice deep and delightful.
"Hi Chance." She said shyly.
"I guess we are missing school today huh?" He asked sleepily.
"It's Saturday."
"Sammy its Friday, yesterday wasn't that long to take up two days."
"No." The word just fell from her lips. Surely she couldn't have done it again? Last time she woke up with him she thought it was late morning and it wasn't but today it bloody was!
She sat there for a minute completely still until she was frantically flying off the bed and pulling the covers off him. She stopped briefly as she realised sometime during the night he had practically got undressed. He was only wearing boxers and she tried not to gape ridiculously at his completely well-built body.
He groaned at her and tried to return to his rest by rolling over, showing her he's muscular back, which snapped her from her staring. She quickly returned to the bed and began jumping up and down in a frenzied manner and screeching at him to get up.
"We are going to school now get up." She yelled at him.
"Okay but you do realise that it's eight already?" He mumbled.
"We will make it quick, now go and get dressed." She ordered as she pushed him out of the bed with him protesting all the way.
"Okay." He repeated as he stumbled off the bed running his hand through his hair so he looked deliciously rumpled and appealing.
"I'm so sleeping in tomorrow." Chance warned as he threw on his jeans and shirt before walking out of the door. "Wait I forgot something."
"What?' Sam yelled in exasperation, flapping her arms at him to go.
He walked back in and came straight over to her, his eyes so deep she thought she might drown. He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her til she could hardly breathe. His hands roamed over her back until his fingers were in her hair.
"That's better." He said before walking back out of the room with Sam gasping for air.
She was incredibly frantic by the time she got dressed. She found herself stopping dreamily in the middle of the room gently touching her lips that were still tingling from his kiss, until she realised how late she was. She was racing down the stairs when she heard her Dad's voice from his den that made her want to groan.
