As you can tell by the title, this chapter is inspired by Billie's song "xanny", so slight trigger warning because obviously it's gonna mention drugs. ___________________________________
I hear Billie heavily sigh as she enters our room, just getting back from hanging out with her friends.
Her face shows no emotion as she falls back onto the bed, laying next to me, staring at the ceiling. I notice eyebags under her eyes and her blue eyes aren't as bright as they usually are.
"You look tired and drained, are you okay?" I worriedly ask her.
She lightly shakes her head no, sighing again as she run her hand through her hair in a stressful manner. Her eyes glazed with tears.
"What's wrong? Did your friends do something to you?" I ask her.
"I'm just so, so tired." She responds.
"Tired of what?"
"My friends being intoxicated every time I see them. It's like they need a xanny to feel better, like it's therapy for them." She says.
"Please don't ever do what they're doing." I plead her as I realize how badly drugs are affecting her friends' mental health.
She softly smiles, "I won't... I don't need a xanny to feel better." She says, reassuring me.
"What are you gonna do about your friends?" I ask her.
"I don't know, there's not much I can do. I'm just tired of watching them slowly kill themselves, it's so draining." Her voice cracks.
"Maybe you just need new friends." I suggest.
"But I love my friends, I just hate what they're doing."
"I know baby, but you shouldn't love someone who isn't dying by mistake." I tell her.
"You're right, I'm tired of being in their second-hand smoke and being the only one who's not stoned." She says.
"You're better off without them, they're nothing but unstable." I say as I wrap my arms around her and softly play with her hair, she lightly nods her head in agreement.
"Thank you." She says, softly.
"For what baby?"
"For not slowly killing yourself by doing drugs." She responds.
"Why would I want to do that when I have the prettiest girl in my arms right now?" I say, making her smile. ___________________________________
This chapter is pretty short but I really wanted to do a chapter inspired by "xanny" because I love that song so I hope you guys enjoyed. Thanks for reading !!
