On Tuesday morning Xoey had been instructed to give Wayne an invitation for Xiomara's engagement party. I swear sometimes rich people are very out of touch since ya know a mail man can do the same service and deliver it to the house and get paid for it? Now you're probably asking why the hell would Wayne want an invitation to an engagement party? Well to answer that he doesn't in fact he could give two shits about Xoey's sister's engagement. Literally has zero effect on his life. But Wayne's father and Xoey's father had just so coincidentally have been apart of the same fraternity in college and Nicholas Wayne's dad had funded Mr. Ibanez's campaigns multiple times. So needless to say they were tight, and this was merely a formality. Xoey had came up to Wayne and handed him the invitation, it was kinda weird actually seeing those two interact one on one. Rose saw Xoey interacting with Wayne from a distance, and her immediate response was,
"What the hell? Aw shit and I was starting to come around to him too! Oh well." I was very confused what she was talking about and I saw Wayne and Xoey talking. I immediately cringed, I had no idea what they were talking about but Wayne told me he was very confused about the invite.
"Aw? A love letter for me? You shouldn't have!" He teased her,
"Ha ha, very funny. It's an invitation for my sister's engagement." She said annoyed.
"Oh shit I forgot you had a sister." He replied.
"I forget too sometimes. Is your dad gonna be able to make it?"
"Probably not, you know how he is."
"Well the invitation is good for two people. Maybe you should take Alice."
"Why would I do that?" He asked repulsed.
"Look I don't know what happened between you two but she's still crazy about you." She told him, he definitely seemed thrown off by the idea of her being into him still, he actually scoffed at the idea.
"And I've moved on." He started to look over at me and I pretended like we didn't just make eye contact for a split second.
"Shut up, no way you're into-"
"Well I'll see ya in like two weeks bye." He ushered her way from him. Xoey looked shocked and she kinda smiled cause she knew something. Rose looked at her kinda repulsed,
"Oh no she's smiling like a psycho. That can't be good." She said.
"As long as it doesn't have anything to do with me, we're a-okay." I sighed. I didn't want to know what was being discussed, because I feared it would be something negative about me. Xoey told me as she walked by she saw Alice up ahead eagerly waiting for her. When she got up to the lockers Alice was hanging around at she had a big smile on her face,
"Sooo? What did he say?" She asked eagerly. Xoey was hesitant on how to answer that question and to answer that question in general. She gave it a a go ahead either way.
"Um well, his dad might not be able to go and if that's the case, he'll go — by himself." Xoey said with a lack of confidence. She really didn't want to tell her friend that her ex-boyfriend moved on and she should too. And to add to that he was potentially interested in someone else entirely. But would've been a hard pill for Alice to swallow. Oh the irony in that statement.
