Once I told Rose about Wayne asking me to be his plus one, she had some serious questions for him. Questions like what're his intentions and why Christine of all people. All of which are valid. I'm not sure what he told her but she seemed satisfied with whatever answers he gave her. I say that because Rose went right ahead and rushed me to an upscale store specifically meant for the wealthy or upper class clientele which she was a part of. Sometimes it really pays to have a wealthy friend.

She made me try every dress imaginable but the dress that stood out for me was this lavender colored silk dress that slightly dropped down on the chest area but it was tight enough to cover and protect my cleavage. It was tasteful yet classy with a high slit so I could show a little leg. It was beautiful; Rose was in absolute awe.

Her exact words were "You are eating this dress up, girl. This is it." Don't even ask me how much the dress is, I don't even wanna know as an adult. To this day it's my favorite dress.

The day of the event, Xoey

The night of the event, my mom curled my hair with this heatless curling kit (still one of the most bizarre contraptions I've ever seen.) and I anxiously waited for Wayne. I think this part was very bizarre, because Nicholas Wayne had to meet my mom. That was the condition to me even going in the first place. So this was very odd and stress inducing thing to me. I didn't want him to look stupid and I also didn't want my mom to embarrass me. She tried to suggest this was more than a plus one thing and it could be the start to a relationship. The thought of Wayne and I had never crossed my mind, and my immediate response to that was,

"God mom, can you like not?" I guess it's something you can't help but to do when you're a parent. When I got the text saying he had pulled up I started to get nervous and I took a deep breath in.

"Hey uh mom, Nick is outside." My mother's ears perked up and my twin siblings ran down to the window in awe. They peeked through the blinds as mom and I walked out the door. To say I was nervous would be an understatement. I saw him across the lawn in a fitted black suit and a light purple tie. He was absolutely handsome.

"Hey." I said to him.

"Hey." He replied before my mother said,

"Hello, you must be Nicholas Wayne." His attention was diverted to my mother.

"Yes, it's uh nice to meet you-?" He paused because he realized he didn't know my mom's name.

"It's Anna." She told him and she continued with, "I want her home by midnight, have fun and be safe you two." She raised her eyebrow up, Wayne probably didn't know what that brow meant but I knew what that meant. My cheeks turned red with embarrassment.

"Oh my god mom please, stop. I'll text you when I'm on my way home." My mom definitely got pleasure out of that and I hated it. She walked away giggling and I was so eager to get in the car. The car was beautiful both in the interior and exterior. The seats were made of black leather but it wasn't like super stiff it was actually really comfortable. Almost as if I was sitting on a Tempur-Pedic bed and I loved it.

Once Wayne got into the car he took a moment to look at me fully and he let out a "Wow."

"You look beautiful." He added. It really felt genuine and I blushed but he couldn't tell cause the lights were off.

"Thank you." I replied. I checked my phone to see a text from Rose saying,

"Hey let me know how the party goes!"
