So for my English class this year, we start off by writing something (usually a short story) based off of a prompt, and I thought that I'd put them here because I'm proud of them.

This first one I did with a classmate of mine, I won't put her name because I'm not sure if she'd want that, but I think people should know that I had help with this one.

Amelia's fingers skittered across her keyboard as the sound of the chaos around her filled her ears. Everyone in the NASA control room was panicking as though the world was ending.

And it was, in a sense.

The newly lifted off spaceship was careening back towards the Earth, and it was up to Amelia to find and fix what had malfunctioned. Sweat was beading on her forehead and her heart was ready to explode out of her chest. Her fingers ached as she typed in the final code, her breathe seemingly stuck in her lungs.

Click!

She slammed on the enter key, and turned towards the main monitor. Everyone's eyes were fixated on the spaceship as it turned back towards it's main destination- Mars.

The panic that once filled every inch of the room was replaced with smiles and cheers. Amelia let out a sigh of relief and deflated back into her chair.

Everything was right in the world once more.

-Peace out my dudes. ✌️
