Mellissa
It's been several weeks now since I last spoke to Liam. I could only find him in the hallways at school, of which I could only say hey and he could just stare blankly at me like I had something in my face.
Liz had tried to console me over what had happened, but I couldn't find a way to make it up to Liam. I only wished everything could go back to the way it was. Only to be best friends with Liam again.
Now as it was a Sunday, I sat on my bed, figuring out how I'd plan my birthday party tonight.
I had texted Liz to come over to help with the arrangements and guess what! She's late..
I made my way to Greg's room to ask if he would help out. Or maybe do me a favor to not bring her girls at the party.
I quickly twisted the door knob to face an empty big untidy room. As I noticed Greg was no where in sight, I headed towards his computer to find out.. well whatever I could find there.
"What are you doing?" A deep voice snapped me out of my I donno what state.
"Shit!" I cursed as I stood up from where I was seated. "You jerk. You scared me!" I hissed.
"I wouldn't say that if I was in your room, sneaking into your computer, of which you don't have." He said sarcastically, before I noticed he had wrapped his navy blue cotton towel around his waist, water dripping off his body.
"I'm sorry?" I said, pulling out the best intriguing face I could afford.
"Get out, will you?" He said not intending to be rude, gesturing his hands to the door.
"Fine." I hissed, slamming the door behind me. "Jerk." I said to myself.
"Lisa?" I heard Liz shout from downstairs. Yay.
"Liz. You came. I missed you." I jogged towards her and pulled her into a hug.
To be honest, I needed someone by my side at this moment and Greg didn't do any better.
"You saw me six hours ago, Lisa." She remarked, giggling in amusement.
"I'm allowed to miss you, aren't I?" I defended as I pulled away from the hug.
"Fine but we have seven hours to be done with this." She stated, walking towards the couch.
I hadn't noticed the shopping bags she had with her before she flopped them onto the hardwood floor.
"What is that?" I asked briefly, gesturing towards the bags.
"It's for us, sweetheart."
She then shifted her attention to the bags. "Let's get you ready." She said.
************
By seven p.m, we were done decorating the house into party vibe and all that was left was us to get ready. My dad had gone for his business trip in San Jose and apparently, mom had gone for a charity event at the town church, so the house was mine, well, ours."Try this on." Liz handed me a long but somehow tight, purple mermaid tail dress, with the black heels to match the purse.
I looked utterly adorable. Not to mention, Liz had done my makeup way better than I could. Liz on the other hand had a black tight dress that stopped midthigh though. I still couldn't figure out why she chose it.
I headed to the dresser and slipped into the dress. As I was done, a look of «awe» crossed my face as I looked at myself through the mirror. The dress fell to the floor in a lovely manner, which made my lips stretch a little to form a smile.
"We are late, you know?" I heard Liz shout as I then unglued my eyes from the mirror.
"I'm done." I called out, gathering the ends of the dress.
I saw Liz's lips form a smile as I got out the dresser.
"You look...dope." she got up from the bed and walked over to me, handing me the black heels she had pulled out the shopping bag.
"I'll go with the flip flops." I said sarcastically. Liz suddenly gave me a look of disgust as she slapped the back of my head gently.
"Ow!"
*********A few people had started arriving at the party before I could find Liam. I thought he would come because he had never missed out any of my birthdays, but then something told me he wouldn't show up.
"Whoah." I heard a deep voice say before a hand grabbed my wrist and turned me around to face him.
"You look stunning." Jay said, as he brushed his lips onto mine for a kiss.
"And you look..." I said as i glared at what he was wearing. He had his dark brown hair brushed down on his head, he had a black tuxedo on that complemented his dark brown eyes. He looked just perfect.
"Hot." I finished.
He chuckled slightly before he parted his hand away from mine. "Want a drink?" He asked.
"Sure. Coke by the way." I said briefly as I watched him head to the kitchen.
A sudden pain stung in my chest as I set my eyes onto Liam, who had a wide smile on, which showed his pearly White teeth.
My breath hitched as I looked at him. He had been laughing at a joke which one of his friends in the group had cracked.
"Here." I heard Jay say from beside me as he handed me a cold Coke. I shifted my gaze from Liam and back to Jay. Jay didn't know anything about how Liam felt for me. I hadn't said a word about it as I hoped I would tell him after the party. I had to pile myself up to get the audacity first.
I then snapped out of my thoughts as I spotted Liz dance with Drake, a slow song being played.
Well, who new this party would rock.
