Mellissa
I walk faster than I thought I ever could to the kitchen once I spot Liam. He's been avoiding me since he arrived but I'm sure he won't this time.
"Hey!" I say once I reach him. He gives me a blank look as we lock eyes.
"Tsap." He replies as he gulps the punch he had in the red cup down his throat. I'm sure it's spiked.
"How are you..doing?" I ask, trying my best to interrupt his savageness. I've noticed he does that a lot.
"Nothing to worry about, actually." He says as he places his red cup clumsily onto the island. He doesn't spare me a look as he maintains his gaze upon the dance floor, probably watching people dance.
I quirk an eyebrow at him before I whisper shout at him.
"What the hell is going on with you?"His eyes suddenly find their way onto my face as he then holds my hands.
"Nothing is wrong, Lisa. Seriously." He says in a soothing way as he caresses my hands with his.
"Are you sure? Cause it doesn't seem like it." I say, fixing my eyes into his.
It takes a while before he could reply. I wasn't sure whether it was because of me popping my nose into his life or just that he didn't want to talk to me, though I found it heartbreaking.
"It's okay, Lisa. Everything's just fine." He suddenly envelopes me into a warm and cozy hug as I do not hesitate to hug him back. My heels help with the height since he's slightly taller.
"We good?" I ask as I keep my head onto his chest, feeling his heartbeat slowly pounding against it.
"Yup. Fancy a dance?" He asks, but before I give out an answer, he pulls my hand and we slowly walk towards the dance floor. We earn a few glances from the crowd as we start the dance.
Apparently, Greg or should I say the DJ plays a soft song, again. I wrap my hands around his neck as his are holding my waist slightly. I swallow the urge that has been holding me back from looking at him. His eyes compliment the tuxedo he has on.
Meanwhile, we dance for a while before taking a break. I couldn't dance for a third song since I had been craving like crazy for water.
"Nice moves, huh." Liam says once he hands me the glass of water.
I don't reply to the compliment as I gulp the water down my thirsty throat.
"Lisa!" I hear someone shout from wherever she is.
I place the glass gently onto the island, turning my head to face her. It's Amber. She's approaching with a wide smile plastered on to her face.
Amber had been my closest friend and neighbor since second grade and apparently still is. She had moved out of town a few months ago, after her mom died, to probably have some time to process it and rehab.
Her life had greatly changed since then, mostly at school. She would sit alone at the cafeteria, and sometimes not say a word to anyone. And that was when Mr. Clifford, our principal advised her to take rehab, but particularly out of town.
I think she has just come back to town , not a few days ago. I'm glad rehab turned her clumsy, cheery life back into her again because by the looks of it, she's happy.
"Hey babes!" I say in an excited tone, walking towards her and pull her into a soft hug. She genuinely hugs back.
After the hug, I realise I had Liam standing next to me.
"Forgive my ill manners.*clears throat*, Liam, this is Amber, our neighbour. Amber, this is Liam, my best buddy." I say as I shrug my shoulders and place a huge smile on.
I could see Amber blushing already.
"Well, nice to meet you." She tells Liam, a small smile showing up.
"Nice to meet you too." He says, still giving out the cute smile he's always had.
"I think I'll leave you two to it." I excuse myself and head upstairs to my room.
I look back at the two blushies, which happily warms my heart.
I take two steps at a time, not minding, as I head to my room door. I tilt the door knob slightly pushing myself inside.
My eyes go wide open as I face Liz and Drake making out on my bed.
"Seriously! PG 13 remember?" I say as I continue staring at them with amusement.
"Sorry not sorry!" Liz says as she grabs Drake, heading out of the room.
"I'll be in my room if you nee..." My words are cut off by the slamming of the door. "Love you too." I say to more of myself.
I lie onto my bed, as I hug the pillow that was closest to me. I feel so exhausted already and since this goddamn headache won't stop, I shut my eyes, telling myself I'd wake up a few minutes later.
I didn't bother setting the alarm for that. I'd probably smash it the minute it beeped.
