-Chapter 1

'Babe, it's your first day, you can't be late.' Kurt lets out a groan at these words. He slowly opens his eyes, still half asleep. Kurt covers up his mouth with his hand as he yawns broadly, 'can't I just skip this first class?' Elliot chuckles at his boyfriend's question, 'you're saying that you want to miss your first class with Madame Tibideaux?' He asks with a slightly raised eyebrow. Within a second Kurt is out of his bed, 'I totally forgot! Can you make me something to eat, I gotta get ready.' Kurt runs from his closet, to the bathroom and back, hurrying to get ready for school. 'Already on it,' Elliot says before walking off. Elliot hums to himself as he cooks Kurt some eggs and waits for the toast to be ready. 'Good Morning Elliot!' Rachel chirps. 'Morning Rach,' Elliot smiles. 'Big day for Kurt, I remember when I first started at NYADA, I can't believe i'm already a Junior. And with that I already won a showcase,' Rachel chuckles. Elliot couldn't help but roll his eyes, Rachel was really a handful sometimes. 'It sure is,' Elliot says. The sound of toast being ready coming from the toaster breaks the awkward silence that created itself between Elliot and Rachel. 'Right on time,' Elliot says, he's putting the eggs and toast on a plate right when Kurt walks into the kitchen. 'I don't know if I'll even be able to eat, i'm so nervous,' Kurt says. 'Kurt, Carmen will love you!' Rachel says, a little too enthusiastic. She knocks over a glass of milk. 'I'll clean that up,' she says slightly embarrassed. 'Don't you have school to go to just like Kurt? I'll clean it up before I go,' Elliot says, even though he didn't like Rachel he still was a decent human.

'First class, music history,' Kurt says to himself, walking up the stairs. 'This must be the right classroom,' he takes a peek into the nearest room to make sure it's the place where he's supposed to be. 'Walk, you slow baby!' a guy calls out behind him. 'Sam, shut up!' A blond boy gets followed by a boy in a wheelchair. 'I'm sorry for Sam, he can be quite rude sometimes,' the guy tells Kurt before wheeling past him, while he walks to the row the furthest to the back. He drops his bag on the floor as he sits down. 'Move, slow kid,' the same boy that had yelled at Kurt earlier now tells him to move from his seat. Without resisting in any way he does what he was told to do, he gets up and moves one row to the front, as he doesn't want to get into any trouble.

'It's great to have you all here in this new school year,' the teacher speaks, starting class the second she walks in, 'I'm Madame Tibideaux and I'll be your music history teacher for this school year. Now, could someone tell me when and where Don't Stop Believin' was born?'  Everyone in class starts discussing. Carmen Tibideaux looks around the classroom, 'yes, mister Anderson.' A raven haired boy behind Kurt speaks up. He remembers that face out of thousands. Blaine Anderson; lead singer of the Dalton Warblers. 'Don't Stop Believin' was a power song by Journey and got released somewhere around 1983. Journey was settled in Northern America,' when the boy finishes his sentence Kurt raises his hand. Carmen Tibideaux nods towards Kurt, implying that he could answer, 'yes, mister..?' The teacher pauses shortly to give him a questioning look. 'Hummel. Journey actually released Don't Stop Believin' in 1982, and it's a power ballad,' Kurt smiles. 'It looks like you got some competition, mister Anderson. Now for the homework assignment for this week'

After two hours of music classes Kurt leaves the classroom for lunch when he suddenly gets shoved into a wall. Just when he thought he left this behind at high school, it starts happening again. 'Don't act all tough and smart, you won't reach anything here.' Kurt recognises the guy as the blond who has been telling him to do stuff all lesson long. 'Sam! Leave him alone,' Blaine walks over. 'Why? This loser shouldn't have tried to act all smart.' Blaine gives the younger a death glare, 'let him go,' with a sigh Sam lets go of Kurt. 'Next time he won't save you again,' as the boy walks away Kurt lets himself fall to the ground. It felt like not even there, he could be himself in peace. He'd always be the small porcelain boy from Lima, Ohio.

'Dance class,' Kurt whispered to himself, hoping he can get through this lesson without being shoved into a wall. 'Little porcelain is here too huh.' a shiver goes through Kurts spine. 'What do you want from me,' he says, his voice shaking. 'Stay out of my way,' Sam laughs and pushes Kurt over, his head hitting the wall. He falls down. He reaches for his head. 'Fuck,' there's blood on his hand. 'Let me help you up,' the raven haired boy reaches out his hand. 'I don't need your help, thank you,' Kurt tries his best to get up without passing out. He uses the walls to support himself when leaving the classroom, leaving everyone in disbelief, did a first year just give a talk back to The Blaine Anderson. Blaine lets out a sigh and sits down. This kid was really something else. 'I'll go help him get there,' a first year student walks out the classroom to help Kurt.

When the school nurse has wrapped some bandages around Kurt's head she sits down in front of him. 'How did this happen? Did you get pushed?' she says with a sweet voice. 'No, I, eh,' Kurt stutters. 'I fell, tripped over my own feet,' he says. The nurse looks at him concerned before giving him some pain killers, 'take these and go home to get some rest, I'll inform the teachers.' Kurt nods, takes the painkillers and leaves the nurses office. All the way home Kurt can only think about how this is gonna be high school all over again.

It's Wednesday, two days since Kurt got hurt at school. He decided to skip school on Tuesday. 'You can do this Kurtie,' Elliot kisses his boyfriend before Kurt gets out. 'Thanks for dropping me off here,' he smiles. While walking, the boy in the wheelchair from two days ago comes up to him. 'Hey. Kurt, right?' Kurt just gives him a nod. 'I'm Artie, I just want to apologise for what Sam did the other day, Blaine told me about it.' Kurt looks at the boy. 'Tell him I'm sorry for reacting so harsh to him. He only wanted to help me,' he smiles. 'Blaine is having a party this weekend, you wanna come?' Artie asks. Kurt's eyes widened, in both shock and excitement, 'I've never been asked to a party before but I'd love to come,' he laughs. 'I'll text you the information about it,' Artie hands Kurt his phone. 'I'll see you during music class,'

'I've decided to let you guys come up with a duet, I made the pairs,' Madame Tibideaux. Kurt doesn't really pay attention to anything his teacher says. 'And lastly Mister Anderson and Mister Hummel,' Kurt turns around looking at the raven boy. He gets a smile back. "Meet me after class." Blaine mouths. Kurt nods before turning back to the front. 'This duet has to be written by both partners. You can pick the subject and music style yourself. No more songs about cups though, Mister Evans,' Madame Tibideaux looks Sam in his eyes. 'Yes ma'am,' he laughs. 'You guys can go early today since it is your last class of the day, you can start writing your duet writing sessions,' Kurt grabs his backpack before walking over to Blaine, scared he'll get hurt by Sam again. 'Can you maybe give me your number so I can text for when we are starting,' Blaine says smiling at the younger. Kurt takes his phone out. 'Give me yours, I'll text you,' he smiles. 'Oh by the way I've got a party at my house this,' Kurt interrupts Blaine. 'This Saturday. Artie invited me, Yes, I'll see if I'm going to come. Don't want to risk getting shoved into walls again,' with those words Kurt leaves the raven boy behind in shock at the guy's words. The reality hits him, Kurt is scared to be around him, or any of his friends. It is time someone does something about Sam's behaviour, and it won't be fun.
