- Chapter 13

Last time on Run Away, Blaine worries about holding Kurt back from his dream so he pulls an all-nighter singing with Juniper instead of sleeping. Juniper and Blaine have a movie day whie Kurt is at work and Blaine starts writing lyrics. Kurt gets told he has to get out of his office so he decides to get coffee with Juniper and Blaine. That's what you missed on RUn Away.

'If you'd have to, would you go to Milan, without me, for like six months?' It's the day before christmas eve and Blaine felt like he should ask Kurt. 'Why would i have to? Everything I want is here in New York. Most of all, you are here,' Kurt reassures Blaine. 'Even if you would lose your line at Vogue?' Kurt has to think about that. 'Vogue has always been a big dream for me, but so was a happy life, one like i got here right now,' Kurt says. 'So, tomorrow we'll go to the ice rank right?' Kurt nods. 'I said yes about a million times you idiot,' Kurt starts humming along to the radio, christmas music playing. Kurt loves christmas, always has loved it. The shining lights, the songs, the cozy atmosphere in his home. But most of all, being together with family and friends. Blaine on the otherwise, he loved the songs and the lights everywhere as well, but the cozy atmosphere and happy time with family and friends was not something he experienced back home in Ohio. His parents didn't even come home from business trips for christmas. They'd rather spend the holidays with colleagues then with their own sons. 'How did you celebrate Christmas?' Kurt asks. Both Blaine and Cooper, his three years older brother, didn't know how to react. 'We never actually did,' Blaine starts. 'Mom and dad would rather spend the holidays with people at work, on business trips then with us. So Cooper and i would usually just get ourself a tree and decorate it. And just spend the days watching movies.' Cooper nods, 'Even after i moved out i still came back home for spending the holidays with you.' Kurt's memory of spending christmas was quite the opposite. On christmas eve his family would always come over and they'd have dinner together, then christmas morning came and he'd spend the day unwrapping gifts and playing with them. He'd spend the holidays watching movies with his parents, his dad once his mom had passed away, having dinner and lunching together. There wasn't a way that he could imagine some families not celebrating together. 'By the look on your face, you always celebrated christmas with your mom and dad and the rest of your family,' Cooper says, receiving a dirty look from Blaine. 'Most of my christmas' were without my mom actually, brain cancer.' Kurt gets the three cups filled with steaming chocolate milk. He puts them down in front of the Anderson brothers. 'Marshmallows?' Blaine nods. 'The two of you are going ice skating tomorrow right?' Cooper breaks the silence. 'Yeah, we are,' Kurt says with a smile. 'I'll just stay here and watch some movies, if you are okay with me staying in your apartment though?' Kurt chuckles. 'You can stay here.' Cooper gives Kurt a big smile. 'I'm actually kinda curious, would you really risk losing your own fashion line for that dork of a brother of mine?' Blaine looks at Cooper trying to hint him to shut up. 'Yeah, i would. I would just go back to getting coffee or something like that. Maybe some opportunity like this would come onto my path again. Being with Blaine is not something that will come onto my path multiple times,' Blaine feels tears form in his eyes knowing he'll break Kurt by breaking up with him. 'How about, long distance?' Cooper says. 'Those relationships never work out, i would miss actually hugging and kissing Blaine then way too much.' Blaine gets up and walks to the bathroom. Tears escape his eyes as he looks at himself in the mirror. He would have to break up with Kurt soon, but he felt like he couldn't do it. Not even if he had a thousand years for it. But being the reason that Kurt stopped chasing his dream, that was even worse for Blaine. He had to overcome his fear, the fear of losing Kurt. He would lose Kurt for sure. Kurt would hate him, but at least he would go to Milan. At least he would live his dream.

'Watch it!' A broad and familiar person pushes Kurt aside on the ice rink. Kurt shrugs it off knowing it couldn't be him, it couldn't be David. 'Are you okay? You look like you saw a ghost or something,' Blaine says worryingly. 'What? No i am fine,' Kurt puts on a smile. But he just can't lose the idea of David Karofsky being in town. The boys don't notice Rachel skating towards them. 'I didn't know you'd be here too Rach?' Kurt says lowkey confused. 'I'm here with,' Rachel starts before getting interrupted by Blaine. 'Is that Jesse St. James?' his face displays his excitement. 'He's like a broadway legend.' Rachel laughs. 'He is here, with me.' Both Kurt and Blaine look at Rachel in disbelief. 'So that's why you're never home anymore?' Rachel nods. 'We actually became friends, i will be auditioning for Hamilton, Jessie is going to play Alexander and thinks i'd make a great Eliza.' Blaine looks at Rachel with disbelief. 'I'm going to audition for Hamilton too. I haven't told anyone yet because i don't know if i could do it but now that i know you are also auditioning,' Blaine's face displays a big smile. 'Let me guess, Lafayette and Jefferson?' Rachel asks. 'How did you know that?' 'You always rap and sing those parts with way more enthusiasm.' Rachel skates away, back to Jesse after a few minutes of talking about the musical with Blaine, leaving Kurt and Blaine alone again. 'Surprise package for Kurt Hummel!' a voice a few meters away from them says. It were Juniper and Sebastian. 'I thought you two would be going to Ohio?' Kurt happily skates towards them. 'Santana and Sam are here somewhere too with another friend of yours.' Blaine smiles. 'I gotta go for a second, i will be right back.' Juniper looks at her phone and skates away.

'What's up here?' She approaches Sam, Noah and Santana, Noah just points at a guy who was just about to leave the eye rink, looking at Blaine and Kurt. The five of them get going. 'Hey buddy, might want to re-think who you are looking at,' Juniper says. 'Hey Noah, long time no see,' the boy chuckles anxiously as he sees his old highschool football teammate. 'Not long enough Karofsky.' Santana pushes Noah to the side. 'Look, i might have lived here my whole life, but my family is from Lima Heights. They teached me the Lima Heights ways. So if you don't leave right now i will go all Lima Heights on your sorry ass.' Karofsky laughs. 'Why should i be scared of you guys. Noah, you tried it before you won't win, Juniper was it? Look at you, no way you would win from me. I don't know who you are mister male barbie, you are nothing compared to me. And i don't care about your "Lima Height" ways,' Karofsky says, he is to busy hyping himself up to notice Juniper walking closer. 'No way?' She pulls her fist back and hits Karofsky right on the face. 'You stay the fuck away from Kurt and Blaine, this was just a taste of how far i can go, how far we can go.'
