Leanna's POV
I was leaning against a dining table in my work place, wondering how on earth I got here. I wanted to be an doctor but my parents wouldn't allow it as they were the most famous detectives on this planet. Literally. They were on every single newspaper when a crime was solved. I let out a deep sigh before I got called into the main office by my boss which surprised me at first because there were other detectives around that can solve whatever the case was quickly and professionally. Even though I been here for a year and a half, I still felt rather new and awkward.
"Miss Taylor, will you please come to my office?" I heard my boss, Issie say through the speakers. "Alright, I'm coming." I said out loud instead of inside my head before I walked away from the table and went to the main office where my impatient boss was waiting for me.
"Right, what is the case this time? It better not be something stupid like last time." I asked her, "Okay, if you want to continue with this damn attitude then you can pass over your badge." she replied, insulting me a little while she was at it. "Sorry, Issie." I apologised to her quickly. I watched her breathe in deeply before she opened the brown file.
"This case has not been solved for years. It was in an building called The Vampire Hotel, not sure if it is still exists today. The woman that was murdered was around your age called Louise Chilton. Her body was found by a woman around her 30s, who wanted to be anonymous at the time as she was having a panic attack and made no sense to the police officers and the other woman who was also on the scene at the time was named Astrid Walter. But, she said that she was busy on her laptop in her office. Now, what's strange about this case is that Louise had a bite mark on the side of her neck. I would like you go to there for a few nights to really find out what's really happened." she explained the case to me like it was nothing at all. Some of this didn't make any bloody sense!
"Was it a human bite mark or was it a 'vampire' that did it?" I decided to ask her, "That is for you to find out, Leanna. I will be sending you home early which is right about now as you need to start packing a suitcase. Make sure you bring back good details back when you solve it." she told me before I grabbed the file to look at it myself and left the office to get my stuff from my desk.
"Good luck on that case, Leanna. I heard a rumour that an detective didn't make it out alive when he was trying to solve it on his own." my friend, Tracy said to me which sent a cold shiver down my spine. Thanks for that, Tracy...
"That really boosts my confidence..." I mumbled sarcastically before I grabbed my black handbag and swung it over my left shoulder. I then left the building and went over to my little blue mini.
I began to feel nervous about this case while I was driving home. What if I don't make it out alive? What if I become dinner if there was actually a vampire in the hotel?
Well...the work has to be done and I am always up for a risk.
