Leanna's POV
"This is only the beginning."
I opened my eyes slowly at those words, looking right and left to find out that I was in some type of hell with Astrid. I felt completely useless as I was laying on a comfortable bed, but I knew it wasn't my bed in the room that can't be talked about anymore. I was finished with the case at this point as well. I shouldn't have interrogated her, otherwise I wouldn't be in this terrifying situation.
I watched the door open, and look who it was. Astrid Walter. "I'm sorry for interrogating you so soon. I just wanted to solve it, that's all. I know you are going to kill me, so do it quick." I apologised to her before I watched her come towards me, holding something behind her back. I closed my eyes, getting ready for my fate until I felt a cold chain being gently placed around my neck. "Why would I take away your life when this is only the beginning of our beautiful relationship?" she asked me. Oh shit...
"I don't want to be in a relationship with you. I am not a lesbian." I told her the truth before I watched her tilt her head to the side. "And why are you being soft with me now? What actually are you? A vampire? There is no way on earth that they exist." I decided to ask her before I watched her fangs pop out, letting out a small hiss. Well that was my answer. Yes. Vampires do exist.
I then sat up, looking around the room some more. "Is this your bedroom?" I asked, "Yep. This is in the hotel but it is very much soundproof." she replied. Great. "Your belongings are still here and they have been moved into this room so we will be living together. You won't be leaving, unfortunately." she told me the bad news.
"Why can't I leave?" I asked her, "Because you are my one and only mate. We will be together forever." she replied. Okay, vampire. I looked down to see the cold chain with a ruby in the middle of it. This was pretty. "Why did you give me this necklace? And what does it do?" I asked while starting to get up from the bed and walked over to the body view mirror. I was wearing a black and red night dress, so I assumed Astrid put it on me. If I had this on, that would mean that daytime has passed. I looked at my watch and realised that it was 6pm exactly.
"Evie is coming up with some dinner for you." she told me, which made me turn around to stare at her while I was holding the little red ruby. There was definitely something that she isn't telling me and it was worrying me quite a lot. I was sure it was just a normal ruby.
Then, there was a knock on the door. "You can come in, Evie. We aren't doing anything yet." Astrid told her, before I watched her open the door and carried in a plate of dinner. I didn't like Astrid. I knew she caused the incident just by the innocent look on her face. She doesn't fool me.
"Evie, are you a vampire?" I ended up asking her. "Yes, I am. Astrid turned me after the incident as a thank you gift." she told me before she placed down the plate on a desk and quickly left the room to give us privacy.
"Eat up. I don't want you to starve." Astrid then ordered me to eat before I picked up the warm plate of roast chicken with some salad, and began to eat. It was honestly the best thing I have ever eaten in a long while.
Once I was done a few minutes later, I went back over to the mirror and began to stare at myself. "Oh my..." I heard Astrid say. "Your blood smells incredible. I can't wait to have a taste of you on the blood moon."
"No." I said, "Yes." Astrid said back before I felt a shiver down my spine. I really did feel useless...
"You are scaring me."
"You don't have to be afraid of me. I'm a friendly vampire." she then told me before she chose to walk behind me. Something then caught my eyes, she has a reflection?
Astrid then giggled in my ear a little, leaning forward to kiss my neck until I quickly moved away. "No. Don't even kiss me or touch me." I told her.
"Okay. We can just get to know each other then."
"That's fine with me."
"What made you become this detective?"
