Astrid's POV
I smiled at my mate, until I saw that her eyes changed into the deepest red I have ever seen. I watched her head turn to look towards the window, which made me realise that she could smell a human. "No no no..." I began to tell her as she began to walk towards the window. I luckily got in front of her, resting my hands against the top of her chest to push her back slightly. She bared her fangs at me, "Let me meet this delicious human." she hissed.
"No, babe. You can't. You will harm yourself more than you will harm me. I love you, but please. Resist it." I told her with a pleading tone before my nose picked up the intense smell. God damn it! I was better than this! Why did there have to be a fucking human around, especially around a NEW VAMPIRE!?
I could see the sweat on my poor mate, who was doing her best at resisting. I panted heavily, before the smell disappeared. Just like that. Weird.
Leanna's eyes then turned back into their beautiful light red as her body calmed down from that horrible urge. Just about I was going to ask if she was alright, she collapsed. I immediately caught her before she could even touch the ground. "Your alright, baby..." I whispered to her, hearing a small groan from her. I then picked her up bridal style and carried her to the bed where she could rest. I kissed her on the lips before I became angry at whoever did this.
The first person that was on my mind to interrogate was Evie. So, I left the bedroom within a second and went to find her. No longer than a few minutes later, I found her in the bathroom showering. Stupid idiot left the door open. "Evie." I said her name. "Shit. Astrid, I didn't mean to hurt Leanna like that. I got a little bit too crazy with my vampire side during feeding." she told me. "What did you do?" I asked her.
"I may have killed two nurses at the hospital..."
"Sorry, you did WHAT?" I raised my voice at her, cutting her off from what she was going to say next. The shower then turned off so I could hear her better. "I couldn't resist it. I haven't had nice blood for months!" she cried at me. I crossed my arms, before I didn't want to hear any of her shit and simply walked away.
I let out a deep sigh as I went into my bedroom to take care of Leanna.
