7: two days

y/n woke in her bed, she vaguely remembered last night. wilbur shook her awake, telling her they needed to go back. half asleep she walked back to pogtopia with wilbur, ignoring the awful feeling of someone's eyes watching her.

the girl sat up in her bed, she got herself ready and headed out to the 'discussion room' where her friends voices could be heard.

"morning guys." y/n said through a yawn as she leaned against the doorframe.

"woman." tommy said laughing, y/n could tell he was in a good mood.

"mornin" techno said, not really paying attention to the girl but more so on his axe he was enchanting.

"good morning." wilbur said, smiling as he pulled a chair out from beside him so the girl would sit.

y/n smiled and sat down, "what're the plans for today? we have two days until we take back l'manburg." she said through another yawn.

"well tommy is going to talk to tubbo and let him know, techno is doing whatever his 'secret mission' is and i... i'm meeting with dream." wilbur said, motioning to the boys as he spoke.

"what am i doing?" y/n asked, nodding her head as wilbur spoke.

"i have no idea... you could accompany me when i go meet with dream, he said he needed to tell me something." wilbur said, smiling again at the girl.

"yeah i'm okay with that." y/n wanted to speak with dream too, she wanted to ask about her sword and if he knew anything about who has it.

the four continued doing their own thing until they left to do their tasks set for the day. y/n quickly got herself ready and dressed, then her and wilbur set off for the meeting with dream.

the pair joked and laughed the entire way, rekindling a part of their friendship they missed. eventually they where at the spot dream asked to meet, dream stood against a tree, holding his axe in his hand.

"dream." wilbur greeted, and the two now stood in front of dream.

"hey wilbur, y/n." dream said, putting his axe away.

"what is it you needed to speak about?" wilbur asked.

"it's about our partnership if you'd call it that... i'm siding with shlatt now." dream said, a hint of guilt in his voice knowing he just betrayed one of his closest friends.

y/n's brows furrowed, "what dream? are you serious?" y/n asked, waving her arms around to help her talk better.

"i'm sorry y/n. it's for the better." dream said, looking down. he hated this.

y/n scoffed as wilbur spoke, "so you're siding with shlatt now? and you're leaving us."

dream nodded his head, not wanting to talk about why he did it. why he sided with their enemy, his enemy.

"why." y/n said, bluntly.

"i have my reasons." dream said, his reasons being he needed, no wanted power over everyone.

"welp." wilbur said, laughing lightly.

"whatever, dream do you know where my sword is, i lost it in manburg when techno shot me." y/n asked, annoyed that he was changing sides.

"i can ask around, i don't know who has it now though." dream said, sighing afterwards.

"alright. now wilbur let's leave." y/n said as she took the boys hand and basically stormed off.

the two walked for a bit, y/n angrily mumbling things under her breath. she's had enough people betray her in her life.

"y/n stop." wilbur said.

y/n stopped and turned around, "what will?"

"this is fine, dream doesn't know we plan on taking everything back." wilbur said, "meaning he won't be able to stop us until he realizes what's going on."

y/n thought about it, it was true. dream had no idea of their plans so they could still win even with one of the most powerful people fighting against them. her frown turned into a sly smile.

"now you're getting it.." wilbur said, raising his brows at the girl.

"i do, but it's starting to get dark so let's get back to pogtopia" y/n said.

the two headed back to pogtopia, wilbur laughing at y/n when she shivered from the cold wind and then cursed at it. unknown to wilbur, slowly y/n was taking a better hold of his heart. the short girl punched wilbur jokingly when he made fun of her for being so cold. unknown to y/n, she was slowly saving the boy from his certain doom.

the two sat at the dinner table, waiting for tommy and techno to come back from their tasks. techno came first, not wanting to socialize with anyone he went straight to his potato farm. tommy came last.

"hey tommy." y/n said as tommy came and sat across from her and wilbur.

"how did talking to tubbo go?" wilbur asked, leaning back into his chair.

"well tubbo said he'll help us on the day we actually do it, and he'll tell some people he trusts around manburg for help too." tommy said, as he grabbed a potato from a bowl and ate it.

"well that's good, more people equals a better chance at getting l'manburg back." y/n said, wilbur nodding in agreement.

the three discussed their plans for the day for a while, trying to figure out any weak points in their plan.

"well it's late and there's a lot to do tomorrow, so i'm going to sleep.." y/n said, as she felt herself get unbearably tired.

"goodnight." tommy and wilbur said in unison.

y/n smiled and left to her room, falling into her bed instantly. she worried about what could happen during the day they actually attempt to get l'manburg back.

"what?" y/n said as she heard a knock on her door.

tommy came in and leaned against her dresser.

"y/n i'm really worried." tommy whispered.

"about what?" the girl questioned, as she pat the bed for tommy to come sit.

"i think wilburs gonna blow it all up, i think at least he really wants to." tommy said quietly.

y/n sighed, "i think as long as he gets it back he won't." she said, trying to stop the worry of her friend.

"yeah... maybe." tommy said, his hands into fists.

"i wouldn't stress tommy, wilbur isn't stupid he won't blow it up unless he doesn't get it back." y/n said, rubbing tommy's back.

tommy nodded and the two sat for a while together in a comfortable silence. tommy knew wilbur had something planned, he had to.

"thank you." tommy said, as he stood to leave.

"you can talk to me anytime tommy, i'm here for you." y/n said, smiling to the boy before he left.

y/n's worry only got stronger, what if wilbur didn't get it back. would he actually destroy it? eventually the girl fell asleep.
