When I could finally open my eyes I noticed a breathing mask over my mouth, most of my body wrapped tightly in bandages. The room was dark, the lights from the monitoring room partly shining in through the windows.

I turned my head towards the windows, finding Aizawa standing on the other side of the glass, his eyes on me. I tried lifting my hand, bringing it up past the railing along the edge of the bed, reaching out towards him, but I had no strength, so I had to let my hand drop back down by my side.

Aizawa came into the room, stopping beside the bed. "Was Recovery Girl here?" I ask slowly. "I feel so exhausted"

"You pushed yourself too far"

I turned my head back so I was staring straight up at the ceiling. "When do I not?"

I felt him place his hand on top of mine, carefully taking hold of it. Then, with his other hand, he brushed my messy and dirty hair out of my eyes.

"How long do the doctors think I'll be stuck in this bed? And is the oxygen mask necessary?" I question, wincing a couple times due to the pain throughout my whole body.

"They're going to move you to your own hospital room soon, but for the moment they want to make sure it doesn't get any worse," he explains. "When they found you, you were unconscious, barely breathing"

"Then how am I still alive?" I ask, glancing at him from the corner of my eye. "And what about Nighteye? Is he...?"

He sighed, lowering his head. "He passed a couple hours ago. And you... nearly didn't make it either. They aren't sure how you've managed to pull through, but you did"

"What about the kids? Everyone else? Chisaki?"

"Everyone's alright. They have some healing to do, but they're going to live. And Midoriya stopped Chisaki"

"He's really starting to become a hero, just like, if not a little too much, like All-"

I started coughing, unable to stop myself, blood splattering from my mouth on the inside of my oxygen mask. My stomach started to hurt worse than it already was, and in the brief moment I opened my eyes, I caught a glance of Aizawa. His eyes were wide, his mouth was moving but I couldn't hear what he was saying.

He was pushed out of the room by the nurses while the doctors gave me some sort of drug to knock me out. My eyes slowly started drifting shut, Aizawa's scared eyes the last thing on my mind before everything went blank.

"Are you sure?"

"We can't be heroes forever. There will be a time where younger, stronger heroes rise, and we're the ones who have to guide them. You'd be a perfect teacher"

"I don't want to leave you to fight on your own," he tells me.

"Don't worry, soon I'll have my own job as well. I was thinking of maybe joining the police, my quirk would really come in handy with investigations, questioning suspects"

A small smile made its way to his face. "Well, I guess this is goodbye"

"For now. I'm sure we'll meet again no matter where we end up"

That was only a dream.

That's how I wished it had gone down.

But it was too late to fix the past.

I opened my eyes, finding myself in a normal hospital room, no longer in that monitoring room. It was dark, the blinds pulled over the window. The breathing mask was no longer on my face and I was only hooked up to an IV bag it seemed.
