TWELVE: The Past

I stood in the kitchen, singing along to the music I had playing as I made myself some brunch. Everyone else was teaching, in the school doing their jobs. I had a vacation day, so I was using it to my advantage.

Hands met my waist and I jumped, screaming as I dropped what I was doing and spun around to yell at them. Aizawa was smirking, his hands not leaving my waist.

"I've never heard you sing before," he says.

"You did not need to scare me like that! And shouldn't you be in school?"

"I left something here that I needed to get, I'm just stopping by"

I scoffed as he moved away with a deep laugh. The rest of the day went by and I didn't hear from him until school was over.

I ended up going over to his room, sitting around as he did some work. He was sitting at his desk, going through some papers, continuously brushing his hair out of his face.

"Come here," I mumble, grabbing one of my hair elastics from my wrist.

He came over and sat down in front of me, his back facing me, and I tied his hair back into a loose low bun. Then I let my arms loosely hang around his neck as I kissed his cheek.

"Don't you look handsome"

He leaned back against me, laying his head back on my shoulder, his head turned so he was looking at me, some loose strands of hair brushing my neck.

"You're comfy," he whispered, letting his eyes fall shut.

"H-hey, don't fall asleep"

I pushed him off of me and he stood up, tiredly taking off his shirt. I got up as well, knowing all he probably wanted to do right now was sleep.

"I don't want to be a burden, I'll head out now. I know how much you like your sleep"

"Just stay"

"Stay?" I repeat, not knowing what he meant.

He put away his shirt and pulled the elastic out of his hair, not answering my question. I watched him slip into the bed, holding the sheets open for me.

"Come here," he said tiredly. "Get in"

"I really should be getting back to my room, and I don't have my pyjamas or-"

"Tamira"

I gave in, slipping off my jeans and bra, leaving me in the oversized t-shirt I decided to wear. I got in the bed, facing him. He brought a hand up to my head, brushing my hair behind my ear, and then he let his eyes fall shut, his hand resting on my waist.

"Hey, Sho-" I stopped myself and sighed when I saw he had already fallen fast asleep. "And he's already asleep. How can you fall asleep so fast?" I muttered quietly.

I let my eyes shut and fell asleep as well, but I ended up waking up from a nightmare. As I sprang up in the bed, he woke up, his hand going to my shoulder.

"Are you okay?" He asks.

"We need to talk about it," I state.

"What? It's the middle of the night. Just go back to sleep"

"And there's plenty of time to sleep in tomorrow, it's the weekend. But we need to talk about it"

"Talk about what?"

The door of the house shut gently, but it still woke me up from my sleep. I thought it might've been someone trying to break in, so I snuck across the hall to get Aizawa, except when I opened the door to his room he wasn't there.
