You have to first prioritize your family and love ones over career and pastimes. Next time you want to spend time with them, they might be gone already.
Our love ones is the most precious things we have at the moment. They contribute the most while improving ourselves. There are times when you're alone, you can always run unto them. However, even if it's something important for you, your careers and interest in life should be after you look for your family. There are much opportunies out there and you can just always adjust to your hobbies. Hence, you must build a stronger bond with your love ones first, because you wouldn't know when they'll be available. You might woke up the next day, and they're gone without you saying you love them.
