Chapter 16

Mattia's pov
It's been two days and it's the day of my trial and im not gonna lie i am kind of nervous. But I sit up in the bed and rub the back of my neck because the bed that i lay in is so hard and hurts like hell. Then i hear foot steps coming toward my cell. And a guard stops infront of my cell.
guard: "alright mr polibio today is your trial date lets go hands through the whole."
and i put my hands through the whole and he puts cuffs on them.
Mattia: " do u have to put them so tight."
but he doesn't answer so i take my hands out the whole and he opens up my cell and puts shackles around me.
Mattia: " is this really necessary?"
Guard: " actually it is because of what u did to that guard. Alrights lets go u have a long ride ahead of u."
So we walk down the hall and i see a girl coming down the hall behind me also and she kinda looked cute but i have a girlfreind and that's all that matter's and that is the only person i should be thinking about right now. Because she needs me most right now. we get in the van and i notice that same girl from the hallway is also getting in but thankfully the other guard doesn't sit her next to me. Then they slam the door shut.
??: " yo did u have to slam it so hard."
And i can feel her gaze on me and i wait to see if she is going to look away but she doesn't so i look at her and she looks away and what feels like every 5 minutes she is back looking over at me again.
???: " so are you gonna talk or something or r u just gonna stay mute the whole time... they always board me with the boring people."
and i wasn't going to say anything back to her but i couldn't help it.
Mattia: " And r u going to stop starring at people as if u have seen a ghost."
???: " Oh so the silent boy does talk well my name is kala."
Mattia: "Oh and the girl with the bug eyes does know how to not stare and my name is mattia."
im not going to flirt with this girl because all i want to do is make a conversation because i don't want to be in a 2 hour car ride and sit in awkward silence the whole time.
Kala: " so what r u in here for."
mattia: " well not like its any of ur business or anything but i am in here for possession of drugs and a gun without a license and for hitting an officer i would tell u the story but it's a long one."
kala: "dang im just in here for killing my mom."
And i look at her straight in her eyes because when she said that it reminded me of y/n because she is also in jail for that reason and she could go to prison if they have enough evidence on her and i am worried for her.
Mattia: " Oh my girlfriend is in jail for the same thing."
Kala: " Wait what's her name?"
Mattia: " Why is that any of you business?"
Kala: " Because thier was this girl that was on the news about killer her mom and the boyfriend that he was cheating on her mom with they have evidence on her because apparently someone was watching though the window. That girl must have been in a blind rage she's one psycho bitch.
Mattia: " Ya that's my girlfriend and I don't know who u think u are talking about her like that ur lucky im in these hand cuffs."
And she just gives me a dirty look and we didn't say anything for the rest of the time in the van. Then i feel the van come to a stop and the door slides open.
officer: "alright were here lets go."
So the girl gets out before me then i get out and they take us in and right before we walk into the doors the girl looks back at me and smirks. i just roll my eyes at her because she is really starting to get on my last nerve. And i just started thinking to myself as we where walking that i didn't even get a lawyer just incase this goes sideways. Then i see a girl walking at toward me and smiling so maybe i did get a lawyer.
lawyer: "hi im your lawyer Annalise Keating let me tell u that u are in really good hands. I haven't lost a single case yet and i just went to the Supreme Court."
Blah blah blah i really do not care where she has been i just want to get the hell outta here.
Mattia: "ok well great because i just want to get the hell outta here."
Annalise: "yea i can help u with that, so i already know everything i need to know about u and i have my case on u already so lets go in there and kick some ass."
Yea lets hope u can kick some ass. And we walk into the court room and everyone turns around and looks at me and for a second i though i saw y/n but blinked and she was gone. Then we take a seat and i look back and y/n is back and she is smiling at me and then someone walks infront of her and shes gone again. Man i think im going crazy because i miss her so much and i can't stop thinking about her.
judge: "hello everyone we are hear today to discuss the trial of mattia polibio. Mattia polibio will u please stand."
So i stand.
Judge: "do u plead guilty or not guilty."
Mattia: "not guilty ur honer."
Judge: "no further question u may take a seat. Ok so may we have the officer that took him in please come to the stand."
And I turn and see the officer getting up and come the the stand.
Judge: "please raise ur right hand and place it on the bible and repeat after me. I promise to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth or so help me god."
And eh repeated after her.
Judge: "so would u like to explain what happened on that moring u went to go get mr.polibio."
officer: "yes i would."
Then he looks at me and looks away.
Then someone comes through the doors and just stands their and doesn't take a seat and i notice that he is starring at the officer in the stands. then i get a closer look and i see that its kai no one noticed that he walked in but me and the officer in the stand.
Judge: "hello."
officer: "yes sorry as i w..was sa..ying."
I notice that he is starting to stutter and get nervous. so kai and ale must have done something to the officers to get them not lie and not say what really happened. Then i remember kai looking at me and mouthing we got ur back and i just nodded. Then i just zone out and the next thing i know is hearing my lawyer fight my case.
Annalise: "My client is not guilty he did not do this and i have reason to suspect that they are doing this because....."
And then i zone out again and i hear
Judge: "with everything that i have heard and the little evidence we have mattia polibio is....... not guilty."
And people start yelling at the judge and i thank annalise for her help and we get in the van and head back but then i notice its to quiet and i look up and the girl isn't in the van. So i look to the front and only see one officer in the front not two.
