Are You Ok?

Niko nodded and proceeded to explain the virus thats spreading like the wild fires in California. And the riots that are happening and the reasons that people are doing that.

They all sat there in shock for a bit. Dagger trotted in holding a stick and tilted his head at everyone. Niko laughed and started to make food. "Are any of you allergic to anything?" He asked and got a chorus of no's/nah's from everyone. They had all snapped out for their shock but were still thinking about it and conversing with each other. Niko decided to make spaghetti and meatballs for dinner with some cheesy bread. He made enough for everyone and extra before calling them all to the table. "Hey Eiji? Could you set the table? The utensils are in the last drawer by the door and the plates are in the cabinet right above." Eiji nodded and started to set the table along with Sing and Skipper. Eventually the table was set and everyone was seated and started to eat. Yut-Lung needed a bit less convincing this time since it looked really good. After dinner Ibe offered to wash the dishes and everyone else just went and settled in the living room.
Niko then picked up the tv remote and turned on the tv. He flipped through the channels while petting Dagger who was sitting by his feet. Eventually he stopped on a news channel and there was a report happening on the recent riot that had happened that Niko and the others drove through. "Hey look its me." Niko said as his truck drove by the cameras view for a couple of seconds. Everyone was watching and trying to learn more about where they had ended up. After that it was getting late so everyone went to their designated rooms. And Dino had to sleep on the couch in the living room, Niko gave him a blanket (more like threw a blanket at his face since it would be a real pain if Golzine got sick). Niko decided that he would take them all clothes shopping tomorrow and flopped down onto his bed. Sing, who was on the couch, turned and asked Niko a question. "Hey, so earlier you said thats its really hard to clean blood out of a carpet. Like you've done it before. Why?" Niko just sighed. "A guy broke into the house once and Dagger practically ripped off his leg. It took forever to get the stain out." Sing chuckled a bit at that and they fell into a comfortable silence.

     In the morning Niko woke up at the ungodly hour of 4am and and quietly got up. He got dressed and left the room with Dagger being careful to not wake anyone up. He left through the back door and walked into the woods behind his house. He walked for a bit before reaching a huge willow tree and stopping to lay down under it. Dagger layed with him and Niko spoke to the wolfdog as if Dagger could understand. "Why did this happen? It shouldn't even be possible!" He said running his fingers through the k-9's fur. "They're fictional characters. And now they're here! Im not crazy because you see them too. Or maybe we're both crazy." They stayed like that till the sun had cleared the horizon and was a good ways into the sky.
     Niko sat up and dusted himself off. "Time to go back. They should be awake by now. Its about 9" they both leisurely made their way back to the house. He walked in to see Skipper, Shorter, Sing , Ibe, and Eiji chatting in the living room. Eiji and Skipper jumped up when they saw him, "you're back!" Skipper said. "We were kind of worried since we didn't know where you went" Eiji said right after. They all conversed for a bit before Niko's phone went off and he picked it up on speaker and plopped the phone on the coffee table. "Yellow?" He said not paying a lot of attention to the person on the other end. "Hello! As a member of gen z you are legally obligated to assist in the storming of area 51." The person on the other end said. "Oh yeah? And when are we doing this?"
"You know when." -other person
"Alright, got it. Other than that how's it going?" -Niko
     The rest were just staring at Niko in disbelief.
"Freddy got a boyfriend." -other person
"Oh?" -Niko
By now the rest had all come downstairs and were looking at Niko while he was on the call.
"Yeah they went out on a date!" -other person
"Thats nice. I wish someone would take me out." -Niko said back
"On a date or with a shotgun?" -other person
"Surprise me." -Niko said with a smirk.
"Ok" -the other person said and you could hear the distinct sound of a gun being loaded in the background.
     This surprised everyone listening in because they weren't used to gen z humor. They were staring at him with wide eyes while Niko and the other person were laughing.
"Alright well I'd like to see you try sometime but i gotta go ok dude?"
"Yeah sure whatever. Bye."
Niko hung up the phone and put it in his pocket. They were all looking at Niko still. Eiji, Skipper, Ibe, and Max looked concerned while everyone else either looked surprised, confused, or intrigued. "Are you... ok?" Ibe asked hesitantly. "Oh yeah, that's normal" Niko said waving off their looks. "What do you guys want for breakfast? After im taking all of you to get more clothes." They all still seemed a bit concerned but followed Niko to the kitchen and dining area.
"Whats gen z? Is that like a gang or something? And whats area 51?" Skipper asked energetically as he helped Niko and Eiji with the pancakes. The rest were chatting at the dining room table but quieted their conversations a little to hear what he said.
     Niko laughed a bit at at Skipper's enthusiasm and said, "area 51 is a place the government owns which is highly protected, its where a bunch of strange or highly dangerous things go. Like aliens." They noticed how Niko avoided the gen z question but decided not to push it.
