Trigger warnings- shouting and fighting, child abuse
Wilbur Pov (1st person)
I was worried about Tommy after everything that happened last night. I didn't think he'd be so open with telling Techno and Dream everything. Of course, it wouldn't have made much sense for him to lie, but nonetheless, I was proud.
I was honestly quite shocked when Tommy responded to Techno saying he was down to stream. When I found out about his situation with his father, he didn't talk to anybody for like a week, let alone stream with them.
I was already streaming for around an hour when Tommy responded to the group chat saying he'd be on in a few minutes. I sent him a message saying we were all waiting in vc 2 for him. Once Tommy finally joined, it was relieving to hear him laughing with everyone. I hated being in a situation where I couldn't do anything. I wanted so badly to tell some kind of authority about Tommy's dad, but I knew I couldn't, it wasn't my place. The best I could do was be there for him whenever he needed support. I would just have to wait it out until Tommy decided it was time for him to leave his dad.
The stream went smoothly until Tubbo brought up something with his parents. In all honesty, I was not paying attention to a single word he was saying. I was too busy strumming chords on the guitar with my mic muted. Chat had been demanding I play a song, so I finally gave in. It wasn't until I heard Tommy's voice that I started paying attention. His words sounded harsher than normal.
"Must be nice," I heard Tommy mutter. The smile that lips previously held vanished as I could sense the hint of anger behind his words. I wasn't sure if the others had noticed it, but it was definitely there. And that's when I heard Tubbo going on about how lucky Tommy was to have such a laid-back dad.
Oh shit. I knew that would be getting a reaction out of Tommy. My chat hadn't picked up on the clear worry that my face was showing. "You're right Tubbo, I am so lucky."
The call went dead silent after he said that. Even Schlatt could tell something was going on with the boy. I heard Tubbo begin talking and I was about to cut him off before Dream beat me to it.
I sighed, turning back to my guitar as I heard the boys discussing something regarding Dreams youtube. I look at the chat and see them spamming that I play Hayloft. I crack a light smile as I play the opening chords, glad that they didn't pick up on the tension.
I had gotten bored of just playing guitar, so I logged onto minecraft and found where everyone was. Tommy was busy mining iron, Techno was farming, Tubbo was building another house, Schlatt was nowhere to be found, and Dream was following Tommy around. I made my way over to where Tommy and Dream were and helped Tommy collect iron.
"So, Wil, what's up with your character and the whole 'blue' thing?" I heard Techno ask. Although Techno was in charge of the script this season, there were often little side plots going on that didn't really affect the main storyline, like my characters 'blue.'
"Honestly, I'm not even sure yet. I'll probably read a whole bunch of theories on twitter and choose my favorite and go off of that," I admitted. I had put a lot of effort into the previous plot, and I did not feel like making anything up. Plus, the fans usually had pretty good ideas, so it wouldn't be hard to find one I liked.
I noticed Tommy hadn't said anything for a bit so I tried to get him engaged in the conversation. "Have any ideas, Tommy?" There was no response.
"Pretty sure the kids on deafen reading donos or something," Schlatt informed.
"Oh, that makes sense," I say, feeling slightly embarrassed.
A few minutes had passed and I've gotten well over a stack of iron. Tommy's character stood AFK the whole time, but I brushed it off assuming Tommy was just talking to his chat. He'd always tell me how he wanted more one on one time with his fans, so it made sense for him to be gone longer than normal.
