Trigger Warnings: Mentions of abuse, mentions of drug addiction, cursing

It was the second day of their trip and the boys had a few things planned for today. The day would begin with them going out to breakfast, once they all ate, they planned on walking around and going into a few shops, and then they'd all come back and surprise their viewers with a stream, since none of them knew Tommy, Techno, Philza, Tubbo and WIlbur had all met up.

So far, the morning has gone by pretty smoothly, but the same can't be said for the rest of the day. They all woke up around the same, Techno sleeping a little later than everyone else, and everyone took a shower, Tommy going last. He had spent more time in the bathroom than the other boys, because he had to spend a couple of minutes trying to cover up the bruise on his face that still hadn't healed.

Taking a step back, he looked at his face, which looked totally normal. No sight of a bruise at all. He pushed the bottle of concealer back down into his back. On one hand, he was glad he was able to cover it up, but on the other, he wished he didn't have to feel proud that he was hiding his bruises so well. After he was done, he slipped on his sweater to cover up the multiple bruises on his arms and made his way out into the main room.

He sat down on his bed, hoping nobody would point out how long he took in the bathroom, which of course no one did. Instead, they pointed out something else.

"You moved around a lot in your sleep, Tommy," Tubbo said, breaking the silence in the room.

Tommy felt his face get red and he looked down, avoiding his gaze. He knew why he was moving in his sleep, he had another nightmare about his father. It woke him up in the middle of the night, and he had a rather difficult time trying to calm himself down and not wake up any of his friends. He thought he did so successfully, but apparently Tubbo must've felt him thrashing about before Tommy actually woke up.

"Oh, sorry about that, didn't mean to wake you up," Tommy replied, feeling a little bit guilty, "I just had a nightmare."

"No need to apologize man!" Tubbo said, not pressing any further, which Tommy was thankful for. He hated how much he was lying to his friends these days.

They all sat in the room for a bit before deciding that if they wanted to get to the breakfast joint before it was too busy, they should probably get going. The place they were going to eat wasn't very far from where they were staying, so they decided they would save Wilbur some money on gas and just walk there.

The whole walk there, they were making jokes and laughing their asses off. Tommy didn't speak much, but laughed just as much as everyone else at the jokes, just taking in the moment.

Life with his friends was so much better than the life he had back home with his dad. Tommy wished he could spend everyday like this, just hanging out with his friends, not worrying about saying the wrong thing and getting hit. Just two more years. Two more years and you're out of that house you call home.

Tommy noticed that he hadn't said anything in a while so he brought up the restaurant, "Where are we even going anyways?"

"I don't remember what it was called, but it had some pretty good reviews," Wilbur replied, "Oh, it's right there." Wil said pointing down the street a few blocks.

Tommys eyes followed the direction the fingers were pointing and he saw a cute little restaurant with outdoor seating and loads of plants. Tommy was excited to eat something that hadn't been sitting in the bottom of his fathers fridge for weeks. He didn't eat out often, so he was sure to make the most of it.

They all sat down at a table, probably one too small to fit all five of them, but no one seemed to mind. Tommy picked up the laminated menu that was handed to him and started browsing the selection. There were so many different options to choose, but he ended up settling on just some pancakes. Tommy had offered to help pay the bill previously, but he knew Techno was taking care of it and wouldn't budge. Tommy didn't want to order anything expensive, but he was fine with just eating pancakes, they never had them at home so it was a treat.
