Trigger Warning- Abuse, alcohol, yelling, cursing
Tommy wakes up from his mid-day nap to hear a soft ringing of bells coming from his phone. He groans quietly, turning off the alarm and putting his pillow on his face, not yet wanting to get out of bed. As he stretches his arms, he makes a mental note to change his alarm tone, he can't stand hearing the same noise of the bells waking him up. It was seven pm, almost time for him to start his stream.
Tommy decides to go to the bathroom before he presents himself to thousands of people. Once he's done, he quickly runs a brush through his hair and sighs as he looks himself in the mirror. He makes his way out of the bathroom and into the kitchen to grab a coke for his stream. He sees his dad sitting on the same recliner he's always at, with some stupid murder mystery show hes always got blaring way too loud.
"I'm gonna start streaming soon," he practically has to yell for his dad to hear.
"Yeah, whatever," Tommy's dad mumbles back with a disappointed look on his face, "I'm headin' out to the pub."
Tommy expecting nothing else from his dad, it seemed to be routine these days. He wasn't complaining though, because when his dad was out at bars, he didn't have to worry about whether or not his dad would barge into his room while thousands of people watched.
Tommy headed back to his room and sat down in his gaming chair and opened up discord. He read through a few notifications from the DreamSmp group chat front last night. Nothing important, just Dream asking a few of the others if they wanted to get on a game of Among Us. Tommy was a little upset he didn't join their game, he really liked spending time with all of his friends, although he'd never show it, they helped to take his mind off of his shitty home life. He wouldn't have been able to join their game anyways, he told himself, his dad was home and there was no way he was going to risk them hearing his father yell on about how much he had disappointed him, or whatever new thing he would come up with to take his anger out.
Tommy decided that he would wait until he heard his father leave, that way he would have nothing to worry about. He had 15 minutes until he had to start his stream anyways. Tommy slipped on his headphones and went to find his newest playlist with all of the songs he liked. The familiar intro to "Taking Care of Things" played through his ears and he rested his head back as a smile spread across his face. He loved this song. Tommy sat there for a while just listening to his music. His online persona differed so much from what he was like in real life. While streaming, he was loud, carless, and confident, but in real life, he was none of those things. In fact, he was quite the opposite, but that was nobody's business but his.
He heard his fathers car start up outside and figured he'd been gone for the night, probably spending the night with some random girl he met at the bar. Once he knew his father was gone for sure, he enjoyed the last few moments of silence before starting up his stream. He knew he would have to start at some point.
He put his headphones away and went over to twitch and pressed the start stream button. As soon as he presses that button, it's like a light switch flips inside on him. He's no longer the scared, quiet boy his father knows him as, but he was Tommyinnit.
"Sup Chat!" he screams as he smiles at his chat. It's mainly just Pogchamps and people saying hello, so he continues on. "Today, I figured we'd be getting on the DreamSmp for a little while," as if he really does anything else. He smiles widely as he boots up minecraft, taking a big sip of his coke while the game loads. Tommy loves streaming, he loves having something to take his mind off of everything.
Once the game loads up, he opens up discord to join his VC, VC2 of course, so that if anyone wants to talk to him, they can. After a little bit of just talking to chat and collecting wood, Wilbur joins Tommy's VC.
