Trigger Warnings- Abuse, blood,
Weeks had passed without an incident. And without an incident, in Tommy's mind, meant no breakdowns in front of friends, no major beatings, no more people finding out about his dad, and most importantly, the fans haven't suspected a thing. Tommy felt proud things have been going so smoothly, but deep down, he knew this wasn't the type of thing he should be proud about. Kids his age should be proud about getting a 9 on an exam, not about going a week or two without getting beaten to a bloody pulp by their fathers! His dad always found time off streams to leave a few more small bruises, but nothing Tommy wasn't used to, right?
Of course, Wilbur kept pestering the boy, keeping him on the phone for hours on end, just to make sure he was okay, but Tommy didn't mind. It was much easier to get off the phone if he heard his dad come home when there was only one person on the phone. Although he didn't need the calls as much as he did a few weeks ago, it was comforting to know that Wilbur still cared. He was feeling a lot better recently, everything felt a little less hopeless. He felt a little less alone.
That didn't mean his days didn't still feel like hell, because they did. But it makes walking through hell a whole lot easier when you aren't walking alone. Tommy would be forever in debt to Wilbur for being there when he needed him most.
Starting the day, Tommy got out of his bed to his bathroom. There were a few bruises, mostly healed, a few news ones, but nothing major. The bathroom started to fill with steam to the point where he could no longer examine the bruises in the mirror any longer, so he decided it was time to get in.
After Tommy's morning shower, he didn't stare at the ceiling for hours mindlessly like he used to do. Instead, he got over to his pc and sat down in his chair. He sat in his chair for a minute, straining his ears to try and see if he could hear any noise. When no tv was heard and no bottles being moved around, Tommy knew his dad had gone out, and seeing as it was the weekend, he knew his dad wasn't at work which meant he was at the pub.
When Tommy talked to his friends, time passed by much quicker, so he talked to them as much as he could. All his friends were glad to see him acting normal again, and that he wasn't ignoring them like he did that one time. He still wasn't open with them, but they didn't care. They were all just glad to have their friend back.
With nothing better to do, Tommy found himself joining the smp to pass time. As the world loaded up, he quickly ran downstairs to grab something to snack on for when he started playing with his friends. As he was running, his foot caught on something, nearly sending him down his flight of stairs. He chuckled at himself as he slowly made his way down the steps, much more careful this time. Opening the fridge, Tommy felt the blast of cool air hit his face, which would've been refreshing if his dad had remembered to pay for the heat, but since he didn't, the house was way colder than it should've been, seeing as it was nearly Christmas time. With sigh, Tommy shut the fridge door, not even grabbing anything. His options were only limited to eggs, milk, and beer anyways. Not feeling like having scrambled eggs for the fifth time this week, he decided he could wait to eat until he went to the store later.
Running back upstairs, paying close attention to not almost fall again, Tommy slid into his room and shut his door. He slipped on a sweatshirt to try and warm himself from the cold house. He plopped himself in his chair to see who was online. Tommy didn't plan on streaming today, seeing as he just streamed yesterday for nearly three hours, he figured he was allowed to have a little break and just talk to his friends. He noticed a message from Technoblade and opened it.
"Wanna join vc3 with Dream, Wilbur, and I?" Tommy knew immediately that he would be talking to those three again, which he was very happy about. He seemed to get a lot closer with Dream and Techno over the last two weeks.
