It was 3:58 am when we left the house for the airport. My mom was on a business trip in New York City so when my plane lands in JFK she's going to meet me there.

"Daddy, I'm so excited."

"Me too, but I'm gonna miss you."

"I know, I'll miss you too. I can't believe it's already here. I've been planning this ever since I was 12, now I'm 18 and about to fly to London. To LONDON!" I was beaming with excitement. Think of all the things that could happen while I'm there. I might love it so much and live there even after college. What if I acquire the accent? What if I find the love of my life?

We pulled into the parking lot and my dad paid for a spot. I had four bags of luggage not including my string tie on my back full of food. I had 3 full charged portable chargers plus my fully charged phone. My dad said it was ridiculous but at least I was prepared.

"Mace, stop biting your nails."

"Oh, sorry." I didn't even realize I was doing it. Hopefully I don't make a habit out of it because I pride myself in my hands.

We walked into the airport and it was busier than I expected. People were everywhere, walking in every direction. I saw a Caribou Coffee and pointed. My dad shook his head but agreed, knowing that Minnesota is the only place with them. I come back and my dad is standing by my gate with my four bags. Because there are so many, I couldn't keep them above me so they'll travel separately to JFK.

"Now boarding flight 234 to JFK. Repeat, now boarding flight 2-3-4 to JFK airport in New York City."

I gave my dad one last hug and when we pulled apart I saw tears in his eyes. "I'm so proud of you Macy, so so proud," he gave my hand a squeeze and sent me off.
