It was 2:41 am when my cat walked over my face. I didn'th realize I was late until I looked over at my clock. Only by 11 minutes, but still tardy.

My mom says I'm a Type A personality, because I always like things to be in order and on time. I hop out of bed and look in the mirror. With the lost time I can't put on my usual eyeliner, too risky. I stick to just some gold eyeshadow and mascara. Luckily I didn't break out last night, so I don't have to put on face makeup.

I look over at my clock and its 3:00 am now. Finally back on schedule, I start my hair. It's naturally wavy and only takes about 10 minutes to curl. It looks really nice so I add a French braid across the top.

3:12 am and 3 minutes to spare. As I'm walking down stairs to pack a bag for the plane, I notice that my dad is asleep on the couch still. "Dad! Wake up, you're gonna be late!" At first he doesn't know where he is but once he realizes it he looks horrified. We were both supposed to wake up at 2:30 am so that we would be time for my flight but it seems as if I'm the only one that remembered.

My flight departs at 6:12 am from Minneapolis and flys to JFK airport, then I get on another plane to fly to London. It's 18 hours in all but I'd much rather be early than late.

"Sorry!" he says as he scrambles to get up off the couch. "Are you ready?"

"I still have to pack the food and snacks for the plane ride, but other than that all I have to do is put my bags in the car."

"I'll do that right now, but first I'm going to give you this." He reaches into his wallet and pulls out a new credit card. "I don't know the currency difference from here to London but I know you'll need this."

"It's mine?" I asked, astonished that he would give me such responsibility.

"It's all yours. You have £2000 in your account right now but when you get there I want you to exchange your cash to euros instead of keeping dollars. This is going to be money for groceries, not clothes shopping."

"Thank you so much!"

"I love you, sweetie. Now get all of your stuff together we gotta leave for the airport soon."

I zipped up the bag of food and took my credit card to my wallet upstairs. This is it, it was real. It's actually happening, I'm actually leaving for London in just a few minutes. I'm finally living out my dream.
