"Dean, I um, can we talk?" I said slowly pacing about our bedroom. Dean just looked at me concerned. It was just he and I. Cas was off with Sam checking out something a couple towns over."I don't like the sound of that." Dean said sitting up and looking at me. He's not going to like the sound of it. Neither am I.
"Dean, I'm bored. That's not me saying I don't love you, but I-" he cut me off before I could finish.
"You've never sat this still before. You're just waiting for the ball to drop right?" He said standing up and walking over to me.
"Me too, I like being normal. I like having a normal job, the kids, it's nice. But it's terrifying." He said touching my face.
"Let's run, leave the kids with your mom, let's run. Not forever. Just for a week or so." I said quickly without thinking. He wasn't going to like that thought.
"Okay. Let's do it. Tomorrow we can say our I love you's and goodbyes and then go. Just get in baby and drive. I mean it. " I wasn't expecting dean to respond like this. He's been so caught up in being normal lately.
"You're actually okay with this? What about Sammy?" I said with a little smile. Still not sure why he was okay with it.
"Well, Sammy, he was never built like us. I don't think he can be bored." Dean said making one of his weird little faces I loved.
"Tomorrow, we run, for real?" I said inching up to him wrapping my arms around his waist.
"We run." He said smiling before kissing me.
"Ramble on! And now's the time, the time is now! To sing my song!" Dean sang at the top of his lungs as we tore down the highway.
We had no plans. No destination. We said goodbye to the family and we left. We said it was something important and we'd fill them in later.
"Dean, we forgot to get cas" I said with my eyes wide as he slammed on the breaks and pulled over on the side of the near deserted road.
"Son of a bitch, he was out with Sammy and I didn't think about it." Dean said looking like he'd just hit a dog.
I pulled my phone out and quickly called Cas. Hoping he'd answer. It was always a toss up if he would or not. He still doesn't understand smart phones.
"Is everything okay? Me and sam are almost finished here." Cas said I to the phone as it sounded like he was closing the trunk.
"Dean and I, we left the house early this morning. We um, we ran away from home." I said making a face as dean smirked at me.
"No forever just for like a week." I said as Cas chimed in.
"I knew you and Dean were getting bored. Neither of you have ever sat so still." His voice was sweet as usually. Not at all annoyed.
"Sorry I forgot to call cas, I just had to get out quick before I lost my nerve." Dean said leaning in.
"Do you want me to meet you?" Cas said inquisitively
"Whatever you want feathers. I know you're pretty content" before I could wait for an answer there was a familiar whoosh from the back seat.
"Hello Dean, hello Sloan." He said smiling leaning up against the seat.
I pecked his cheek before looking to Dean. He just smiled and pulled back onto the road flooring it.
I have no idea where we're headed. If everyone at home will be angry with us, we're just going to drive. Be free again, just for a while.
