Astrid took Nik's hand under the table when the spell began to get intense, recognising when a witch was struggling. Elysium's brow had furrowed and her glasses had become unstable. An owl cooed from a tree outside and the bird that sat on the stair railing began to go beserk as the witch's nose started bleeding.

'Elysium?'

Astrid sat up in her seat and took her shoulder before jumping back, the map engulfing in flames as the witch stood up.

PRAETERVOLO

She waved her hands over the flame and it extinguished before sighing, placing her hands either side of the ash and leaning over as the bird kept chirping. 'Frank shut up!' At this, the bird actually quietened down and Astrid frowned. 'What happened?'. Elysium muttered, 'Cloaking spell' and the hybrid cursed under her breath.

'Nik I'm going to the cemetery.' Astrid stood up, 'We should talk soon, Elysium.'

The hybrid walked out and Nik followed suit as Elysium stood there bewildered before shouting out to them, 'I hope you find your sister!' and sighing when the door slammed.

She held her hand out and "Frank" flew onto her finger as she began to lecture him on not loosing his "collective bird brain" every time a spell went wrong.

Outside Elysium's home.

'Astrid wait!' Nik grabbed her arm and she turned around, 'Try and stop me, I dare you.'

'Love I'm not going too.' He smirked and her face relaxed, 'Then what are you doing?'

'Well sure we've had our fun as a team but Elijah and Hayley always put their two cents into most situations..' he trailed off and Astrid turned to face him fully. 'We haven't played King and Queen in a while.' Astrid crossed her arms and smirked at him, 'You want to help me.' Klaus tucked her hair behind her ear and clasped her cheek before allowing his hand to trail down to her neck, 'Bloodshed with you is one of my favourite pastimes darling.'

She bit her lip and smiled, 'Let's go then, Mr. Mikaelson'

Lafayette Cemetery.

'Here ye Here ye! Wolves of the French Quarter! Bring me my sister unharmed or I will go full non compos mentis on the lot of you!'

Nik admired his Queen from afar as he laughed, speaking to her personally. 'I'm not sure they've got the mental capacity to understand what that means love.' Astrid turned to him and giggled, 'All the more reason to kill them. Hardly any worth to society if they didn't grasp the message.' Astrid walked side by side with him as they walked through the mausoleum rows and he shouted out to the hidden wolves next. 'She's not wrong! People never do win when she looses it. She's worse then me!'

She elbowed him and smiled, 'Cheeky bastard.'

'We don't want trouble, Astrid.' A unnamed wolf came out from behind a grave with a small gaggle of wolves behind her. 'Oh wow, you know my name. At least you'll have the pleasure of knowing who killed you.' Astrid spat at her and the wolves grew angsty, multiples sets of eyes flashing yellow.

'Deryn Malraux.' Klaus stated plainly, 'Hand her over to us or I'll help my wife brutalise the lot of you. Quite a simple ultimatum wouldn't you say, love?'

He looked at Astrid with a smirk and she replied, 'I think so, Nik. Now what'll it be?' Astrid looked back round to the wolves, 'Come out wherever you are, Cassie.' Nik smirked at his wife using the fake name.

'Leave, Astrid. Now.' Another wolf stepped in and spoke up, leading Astrid to cross her arms and tilt her head - a smirk sauntering across her lips. 'No.' She smiled, already envisioning what their head would look like on a spike. Suddenly a wolf ran at Astrid from behind her and her reflexes had her back, she kept eye contact with the wolf who ordered to her to leave as she punched a hole through his friends chest. She tore out his heart and the wolf fell to the floor limp.

'I think they've made their choice, Nik.' She sighed and looked at him, 'Shall we?'

Wolves ran at them from either side as the fighting began, Klaus tearing limbs off and Astrid following suit. The wolf who ordered her to leave ran at Klaus and Astrid jumped in between them shouting 'He's mine!' before breaking a spike off of a metal fence and kicking him in the neck with such force that his head flew off and she held the spike out, his head landing perfectly on there.

Turning to Nik and smiling ear to ear, Astrid asked. 'You okay?'

Nik vamped to her across the bodies and grabbed her roughly, kissing her with a bloodied hand on her neck. The two were high on blood as their bodies moved in sync, Nik's other hand took a rough grasp on her hip as she deepened the kiss before Astrid heard a whistle from behind her lover. They broke apart to see another wolf wave at them and Astrid sighed, 'We never do get a moment of peace do we?'

'We're at the top of the food chain, love. Peace is a rarity.'

The wolf ran at them and Astrid spoke, 'I'm quite hungry' before latching onto his neck making him scream as he fell to the floor with Astrid falling with him. Nik's breath hitched in his throat as he watched her feed for a while before being interrupted.

'Astrid, hello daughter in law. I see you're finally looking just as savage as my son. Your true nature has appeared.'

Astrid unhinged her fangs with wide eyes as she saw Esther had jumped into Lenore's body, the witch who they had rallied to complete the soul branding spell. Finn stood the other side of her but she didn't care about that.

"Deryn" stood in the middle of the two clearly unharmed and smirking down at her as she retracted her hybrid nature and stood up. 'Sister?' Astrid asked bewildered and Esther waved her hand at Klaus, snapping his neck.

'What the fuck?!' Astrid turned in shock as her husband's body fell to the floor and she went for Esther before Finn brought her to her knees. 'So impulsive.' He tutted three times as he bent down to her level. 'I'll kill you, you bastard' she growled and Rosaline sighed, 'Let me speak to her, Finn.'

'Deryn, you're my blood. Please don't do this.'

Rosaline smiled as her black heels clicked the floor before grabbing her youngest daughter's face roughly, 'You stupid, stupid girl. Did you really think your sister would betray you?'

Astrid's heart froze over and shattered all at once. She recognised the wicked tone instantly  and her heart raced as she eyed the wolf woman.

'Mother.'

Flashback.
The Village.

'Move out the way!' Deryn screamed and pushed past villagers to reach her little sister. 'Astrid?! Astrid what happened?!'

The youngest Malraux sister was knelt over a teenager her age who was seemingly dead and cried in panic. 'Deryn, we were only playing and a-and I pushed him. He fell out of the tree. Deryn I killed him!' The day had finally come. Astrid Malraux had activated her werewolf curse. Deryn picked up her sister and took her away from the crowd, her instincts kicking in. Upon reaching their hovel, she put Astrid down and hugged her instantly. 'I'm here, sister. I'm right here.'

'I'm not even 16, Deryn. This is it.' She sobbed into Deryn's shoulder and Deryn took Astrid's face in her hands.

'Hey. This is not over, this is only the beginning sister. I'll show you the ropes and how to control it. I will never leave your side Astrid, ever.'

Flashback over.
Present day.

'You bitch.'

Astrid began to grow weak under the power of Finn's spell as Rosaline looked at her. 'You'd speak to your mother with that tongue? You've been with Niklaus for too long, daughter.' Esther waved her hands and Nik's unconscious body disappeared. Astrid growled, 'Esther!' and she hummed, 'He's okay. I sent him back to the Compound.'

'He'll kill you for this.' Astrid exclaimed and Rosaline shook her head. 'No, he won't.' she laughed and beckoned Finn to her side. The werewolf mother nodded slowly and Finn snapped Astrid's neck with his magic.

'We have much to discuss, daughter.'
