Tita was finally ready to talk with Marcus but she had to wait since she got a text from the driver, saying he was already at ART. "Good luck, Marquitos and be safe, please" she replied, using the nickname she had been calling him. He texted her shortly after thanking.
Minutes before, he was talking to the Ferrari guys, telling them about yesterday's events. Alesi and Shwartzman hadn't met her yet and Marcus suggested they joined Callum, Mick and him after dinner.
- And maybe before the dinner, I'll finally get the chance to tell her how I feel - he told the guys and they looked at him curiously; some of them thought he already had, the others had no idea he was going to. - I was going to tell Tita that I want us to become something more, maybe even ask her to be my girlfriend.
- I am missing something - Giuliano commented and Robert agreed - You were going to tell her what?
Marcus quickly explained to them how he was feeling himself falling more and more for the Spanish girl. How he wanted to tell her that twice but they were interrupted both times.
- It wasn't meant to be, man, that's all I know - Robert stated - When it is meant to be, it will happen.
- If I were way, I would wait for the end of the weekend, you know? - it was Callum's turn to intervene - Focus on the races to get her the best result.
- Yeah, and then all sweaty, kiss her - Mick joked and all the guys laughed - Poor her.
- Disgusting, utterly disgusting. - Marcus laughed - But the idea itself is not bad at all. I don't know, I'll have to see my performance today.
There was a pervasive silence after that; the five drivers probably thinking about the race, about the fight for the championship, the third place and best rookie, or even some extra points to end the season. It was definitely not an easy weekend when everything was still on the line. But that was what they had dedicated their lives to.
- We can do this, it's showtime, mates!
A month ago, Tita would be just eyes on Ilott and Schumacher and their fight for the championship; but now she was way more interested in Marcus' race. He did a great job, considering his start in P15, but unfortunately, he missed the points for less than a second and that was desperate.
Tita didn't get the chance to talk to him for a few hours and took the time to watch the third F1 practice and the quali. She thought that maybe without Hamilton, Mercedes could slip-on, but in fact, Russell was a great driver and Mercedes got 1-2 again, in quali. But still, she got to see a good result from Ferrari once again this season, with Charles getting a P4, apart from Seb's result, not even making into the Q3.
When Tita was finally able to be with Marcus, it was already dinner time but she thought they could still have that talk before.
- Hey! - she said with a big smile, seeing the driver's disappointment - Do you think we finally have the time to talk about what you wanted to tell me?
Tita decided to avoid the race subject, at least for that time. But that was all that was in Marcus's head and he didn't felt like talking about something so important, being so exasperated. He decided to follow Callum's advice and wait for the next day. Even if the race wasn't perfect, it was the end of the season and he could at least breathe for a little.
- Tita, I'm so so sorry, but... I... I guess I'm just not in the mood.
The girl wasn't mad with his answer, but after the sleepless night, she just wanted to talk about it for once and for all; but she needed to respect Marcus's wish. They decided to get ready for the dinner and agreed on meeting at the driver's room.
