Boys VS. Girls Scarecrow Hunt

"Once, there was a farmer named Ol' Jack. He grew the biggest pumpkins anyone had ever seen. But his gift was also his curse. The crows stalked Ol' Jack's pumpkin patch to feast on his delicious crops. Their relentless cawing drove him to madness. Ol' Jack guarded his patch around the clock. Didn't eat, didn't sleep. He stayed out there until his feet became rooted to the very ground. His arms became stiff and wooden. His own head turned into a pumpkin. Ol, Jack had became a scarecrow!" Turo said telling his story then Spirit started to neigh loudly. Lucky was on a roof of a building as she looked down at Spirit.

"Hi, Spirit! Be right down!" Lucky said as she turned back to the group that were also on the roof. Landon, Pru, Abigail, Snips, Maricela, Julian, and Turo, who is telling the story.

"Tonight, we're going on a scavenger hunt to build our own scarecrow, lest the crows come for us!" Turo said as all of them seemed somewhat intrigued.

"Aunt Cora would hate this." Lucky said to herself then smile. "I love it."

"I love it, too. But it's also really scary. But I love being scared." Abigail said somewhat excited

"Boo!" Javier said as he turned around the corner. Abigail laughed and was having a good time.

"Javier! What are you doing here?" Lucky asked a little too excited.

"I would never miss the Midnight Harvest Hunt." Javier said which made Lucky have a little giggle.

"Well, this hunt seems nice and all but I'm not interested in it. I'm gonna hang out with Star at the festival. See y'all." Landon said as he started heading out then Maricela frown.

"Sorry you had to find out this way, Landon, but I've moved on." Maricela said as she held onto Julian.

"So sad." He said with a straight face before he kept on walking til he got to the edge but Lucky sigh.

"Wow, you must be real scared Landon." Lucky said which made Landon snicker.

"I'm not falling for it Lucky." Landon said as he started to climb down.

"Well, I'll be sure to brag about how I'm better at scavenger hunting than you." Lucky said as Landon groan and started to climb down.

"Seems like he isn't coming back." Javier said not that shock.

"Just wait." Lucky said which made another second go by.

"I'm not doing this to prove a point, there was no candy apples." Landon said as he went back and sat down.

"Want to hear what bone-chilling quests I've come up with for you?" Turo asked which made them excited.

"Yeah!" Julian said excited.

"Yeah!" Pru said twice as excited.

"I've hidden the pieces for your scarecrows all over Miradero. Clothes, stuffing, even crows for their shoulders, which you'll find perching in the spookiest place of all." Turo said as they look out at the town.

"The cemetery?" Abigail asked nervously scared.

"The jail?" Pru asked a little nervous herself.

"The schoolhouse!" Turo said which made Lucky gasp and made them all laugh, except for Landon.

"Once your scarecrow is done, then and only then, you've got to race to find the head of Ol' Jack in the pumpkin patch." Turo said before he heard a little gasps. "Abigail, calm down. You know it's just a jack-o'-lantern." Turo said which made Abigail more scared, hiding behind Pru. "The winner is the first person to place Jack's head on top of his scarecrow." Turo said which made them somewhat excited.
