(I still suck at titles, so I'm sorry about that! This one was also requested by @sarahinnonce34! This is another look into one of my stories about Carter Wesker and Leon Kennedy. This oneshot takes place House of Horrors, in the three years that Carter was trapped in the Baker Household. It will mainly focus on Leon, and their daughter, Scarlett Kennedy. I hope you like it!)

"Freeze! I said freeze!!!" Three gunshots went off. The sound of footsteps. Frantic and harried breathing. "Crap! Crap, crap, crap!!"
"Carter?! What's happening?!" Leon asked his wife, Carter Kennedy via the ear piece they both shared.
"I'm being chased by a maniac!!" She responded. Leon glared at the woman sitting beside him. The woman who worked for the "New Umbrella", who had conned Carter into going on one last mission, looked increasingly nervous.
"Carter, get out of there!!" He yelled.
"What the hell do you think I'm doing?!" She yelled back. He could hear heavy footsteps running behind her, and he was getting more and more nervous by the second. "No, no, NO!!!" He heard Carter begin trying to ram something. She must have reached a dead end!
"Run, Carter!! Turn around, and RUN!!!" Leon screamed, but it was too late.
"Welcome to the Family, Sweetheart!" He heard a strange man say, before Carter's line went dead. Leon stood abruptly, knocking his chair to the ground, and slamming his hands onto the desk. He turned sharply to the woman.
"YOU SAID SHE WOULD BE SAFE!!!" He screamed. The woman jumped in her seat.
"I'm sorry Mr. Kennedy, we didn't know their were any active hostiles in the home!" She said. He scoffed, and began strapping gear to himself.
"Well, that's something you should have known before you sent ANYONE in there, but especially my wife! She's been through hell and back here whole life, she didn't need this!" He growled, as he continued suiting up.
"Mr. Kennedy, where are you going?" The woman asked, standing up.
"I'm going to rescue my wife." He said. She hurried over to him.
"Mr. Kennedy, with all due respect to your position, I can't let you do that." She said. He sent her a glare.
"Why not?" He asked.
"If we let you go in there, you will be placed in the same position as Carter. We don't know who or what it was that took her! We can't take the chance of losing you too. Carter wouldn't want that." She said. Leon sighed. As much as he hated to admit it...she was right. Carter wouldn't want him to risk his own life going after her. Someone had to take care of Scarlett after all.
"You'll call me as soon as you know anything about this place?" He asked. She nodded.
"You have my word." She said. He shook his head a little.
"I don't know how good that is...but I don't really have a choice. Alright. Please...get my wife back." He said, before he turned and left, praying that he would hear something about Carter soon.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That was three years ago. And Leon had heard absolutely nothing about Carter's whereabouts, or if she was even ALIVE. He was beyond furious that he hadn't heard anything, and at the same time grief stricken that, for all he knew his wife was dead! There were many times where he had wanted to drown his grief and sorrows in alcohol, but each time he thought about Scarlett, and he'd put the bottle down. He made sure she knew who her mother was, and what she looked like, but there was only so much he could do when his daughter cried for her Mom. He was thinking on this, when three year old Scarlett walked up to him.
"Daddy?" She asked, and he smiled down at her.
"What's up, kiddo?" He asked. She held up their old photo album.
"Pictures of Mama, please." She said. She was asking to see pictures of Carter. He nodded.
"Sure, Sweetheart. Come here." He said, picked her up, and setting her on his lap. He opened the photo album up, and started looking through them with her. His personal favorites were the first few pictures they took together after Racoon City, and their wedding pictures. As he flipped the pages, Scarlett suddenly squealed happily.
"Me!!" She squealed, pointing to a picture that Leon had taken of Carter just before the outbreak in Tall Oaks, where she was pregnant with Scarllet. She was trying to push the camera away, saying she 'never took good pictures', but she was smiling and laughing. Leon smiled a little.
"Yep, that's when you were in your Mom's tummy." He said.
"Zombies?" She asked. He nodded.
"Yep, with all the zombies." He said. Before they could look at more, Leon's cell phone rang. "Hello? Hey Chris, what's going on? The hospital? Is it really necessary? Alright then. What about Scarlett? I can't find a babysitter for her that quickly...Bring her? Chris, what's going on? Fine, fine, we'll be down in just a few minutes." Leon hung up the phone, then picked Scarllet up. "Come on, kid, we're going to see Uncle Chris." He said. Scarllet knew Chris as an Uncle, when Carter had disappeared, Chris had done his best to help Leon take care of their daughter, so he was around often. Scarllet smiled really big, and let Leon strap her into her car seat. Chris greeted them when they arrived at the hospital.
"Hey, Sweetheart!" Chris greeted Scarllet, by picking her up and tossing her lightly in the air. She squealed and giggled in delight.
"Hi Uncle Chris!" She said, giving him a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
"So, what's this surprise you were talking about?" Leon asked. Chris gave him a small smirk, before pointing to someone leaning up against a wall a few feet behind him. Leon looked at them, and his eyes widened.
"CARTER!!!"
