AU: The fabled Red String Of Fate connects soulmates. One can always see their own red string, but no one else's. However, once the string starts glowing, anyone can see it. They can occasionally feel tugs on their pinky fingers where the strings are tied. Once they are extremely close to their soulmate, the string begins to glow brighter, and the string tugs until they meet their soulmate.

I sighed, loading the hand gun I had gotten from my safe. Go figure That a zombie outbreak would happen in Tatchi! I was here in China to walk the Great Wall, as I was traveling all over the world, trying to experience different cultures, when a missle hit, spreading a blue fog that was turning so many people into zombies! I sighed, and finished packing my back pack.

"Alright. Let's do this." I mumbled, and walked out of my hotel room. I took the stairs, and silently made my way outside. However, as soon as I got outside, I took notice that the red string on my pinky was glowing bright red! I groaned a little. "As much as I wanna meet my soulmate, now is not the ideal time!" I said. I tried to go the opposite way of where my string was leading, but I suddenly felt a harsh tug on it that nearly pulled me to the ground! "Ouch! Okay, okay, fine, I'll go this way." I muttered, and began following the string, taking down zombies as I went. It didn't take long, maybe an hour, when I heard a female voice say:

"Leon...you're string..." Then, a male voice:

"Yeah, I know. But we don't have the time. We have to go." Then, there was a hard tug that did pull me to the ground!

"Oww!!! Hey man, watch it!" I said. The string was really short now, so I could see the guy that I was currently connected to. He had medium length, brown-blonde hair, he had to be about 6ft tall, with a buff build, and he was wearing black pants, a blue shirt, and a black vest, with various holsters for guns.

"Oh shit, I'm sorry! Here." He said, and squatted down, holding out a hand to me. I took it and let him help me up.

"Thanks. Sorry I snapped, I'm just so over zombies." I said. He laughed.

"No, don't worry about it. Trust me, I get it." He said. I smiled, and that's when we both noticed our strings were connected and glowing extremely bright. I looked up and smiled a little.

"So...hi Soulmate!" I said. He laughed.

"Hey. So, do I get the honor of knowing my Soulmate's name?" He asked. I blushed and laughed.

"Oh, sorry! My name's Y/N. Y/N L/N." I said. He smiled.

"I'm Leon. Leon Kennedy. It's great to finally meet you." He said. I laughed.

"It's nice to finally meet you too!" I said. That's when we heard the moaning of zombies behind us.

"Uh, guys, I hate to break this up, but we really gotta go!" The woman with him said.

"Can I join you guys? After all, I can't let my Soulmate run off without me. I don't think the string would let us!" I said, and Leon laughed.

"Not until we get married anyway." He said. It's said that the red string fades when you and your Soulmate get married. The woman smiled.
