I sighed as I walked into the Police Academy. It was my birthday today, (B/D). I wasn't really planning on celebrating it though. I didn't have anyone to celebrate it with. I had no parents, no siblings, and my friends were all spread out in varying cities. After training today, I would get a cupcake from a local bakery, go home, and watch a movie or something. It made me kind of sad, really. My birthday has become just another day to me, nothing special. I sighed again as I unlocked my desk, and sat down to get some work done. I had been working for about twenty minutes, when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around, and saw my partner, Leon Kennedy. I smiled up at him.

"Hey Leon! What's up?" I asked. He blushed a little, and seemed kind of embarrassed. Before I could ask if he was alright, he handed me something. It was a small bouquet of my favorite flowers, lilacs and tulips (If these aren't your favorite flowers, then go ahead and change them)! My eyes widened and I took the bouquet. "Leon, what's this for?" I asked. He blushed again.

"Well...I remember you telling me that today was your birthday awhile ago, and I wanted to get you something..." He said, and I blushed too, and smiled. "I'm sorry it's so small, it was all I could afford..." he mumbled. I smiled again and kissed his cheek.

"It's perfect. I love it. Thank you, Leon." I said. He got the biggest smile on his face! I guess he must have thought that I wouldn't like it. I then ran and found a vase, filled it with water, and put it on display on my desk. "There. Perfect." I said, and turned back to him. "I don't care how expensive it was Leon. You thought of me, remembered my birthday and my favorite flowers. It means a lot to me. Thank you!" I said, making him blush.

"Hey...(Y/N)...I was wondering...if I could take you out tonight for your birthday?" He asked. I smiled.

"Only if you let me pay half." I said, and he laughed a little.

"Sure. Sounds good. I'll pick you up at 7?" He asked, and I nodded.

"Sounds great. See you tonight, Leon." I said. He smiled, and kissed my cheek.

"See you tonight. Happy birthday, (Y/N)." He said, and walked off. I smiled down at the flowers on my desk.

'Happy birthday (Y/N), indeed'.
