In Hakuna Matata Falls, Kion and Bunga were enjoying the comfortable afternoon. Both of them had come back from a previous mission that was quick and easy for the two of them to solve. Now the honey badger was cuddled close to the lion. Together they sat under a sunny spot and listened to the nearby waterfall. Bunga was especially content, but he could tell there was something bothering his mate.

"Hey, Kion. You've been a little weird since you came back. You sure everything is okay?" Bunga asked.

"I don't know, Bunga" Kion sighed, looking up at the clouds gently flying miles above them. "There's no more fighting, no more invasions. The Pride Lands and Outlands are in total peace. I know I should be happy right now, but... I have no idea what I should do now."

"Kopa and Vitani are gonna be the new king and queen of the Outlands. Being a prince means nothing now that Kiara and Kovu are gonna be the king and queen of the Pride Lands. What does that leave for me?" Kion asked himself.

"Yeah, everyone's moving on, huh?" Bunga asked, placing a paw on the lion's shoulder. "Ono's gonna be the new advisor, Beshte's the new leader of the hippo pod and Fuli's busy helping Jasiri run the clan."

"What do you want to do, Bunga?" Kion asked, looking at his mate beside him.

"Heh. As long as I'm with you, Kion. It doesn't matter what we do," Bunga smiled.

Even though that wasn't the answer he wanted, the lion couldn't help but smile at the honey badger's words. Meanwhile Bunga was bothered by seeing Kion upset. He wanted to find a way to help him, find a new purpose for the both of them. He attempted to think of something but his thinking was interrupted by a sudden noise.

"Bunga! Bunga! B-Bunga, there you are!" Timon gasped as he bounded out of the nearby bushes.

"Timon, calm down. What's going on?" Kion asked. He and Bunga got up from their spot in the grass and were quickly at the frantic meerkat's side.

"Oh, boys! You guys gotta help me!" Timon stammered.

"W-what? What is it?" Bunga asked, now looking around nervously. He was beginning to think there was something after his uncle, something big and bad.

"It's my family! They're coming over. My Ma and Uncle Max," Timon finally revealed.

The lion and badger blinked in confusion, processing what they were just told. The two of them were expecting some crazy never-before-seen threat. Now that they knew the simple truth neither of them knew what to do next. The first to properly react was Bunga, a grin growing in his muzzle.

"Your family is coming here? Uncle Timon, what's wrong with that?" the honey badger asked. Kion nodded in agreement.

"Well, the two of them can be pretty... overbearing," Timon sighed.

"I'm sure everything will be fine," Kion assured. "She'll love it here in the Falls. I know I do."

Those words seemed to ease Timon. He took a deep breath of his own and nodded. "You guys are right. I got nothing to worry about."

He took a step back and turned around. For a moment it looked as if he was going to walk back where he came from but instead there was a frustrated groan that came from the meerkat before he turned around and faced the lion and badger once again.

"Can you guys just be there when they come?" Timon asked. "For support?"

"Sure," Bunga grinned. "I'll be great to meet your family."

"We'll be here whenever you need us," Kion nodded.

That seemed to put Timon at ease for good. A smile was on his own face. He nodded to the two of them and retreated back into the bushes he came from, leaving Kion and Bunga with just themselves once again.
