Harry and Hermione led the way as Umbridge held her wand to Hermione's back and Percy held his wand to Harry's back.

Hermione guided them down the halls, out the doors, and into the forbidden forest. Not even Percy could guess what Hermione's plan was.

Umbridge was growing more and more impatient. "How much further?" she demanded angrily.

"Not far now!" Hermione shouted over her shoulder. The unnecessary volume to her voice told Percy she wanted to be heard in these woods. "Just a little bit — "

Her sentence was interrupted by an arrow landing in a nearby tree, just above her head. The ground shook with the power of hooves beating down into the ground. Umbridge let out a tiny scream and hid behind Percy. As much as he loved being used as a human shield (not), Percy decided this was the right moment to abandon his act.

But before he could round on her, the centaurs crashed through the forest, bows drawn and arrows aimed at their heads or hearts.

Umbridge was whimpering in terror but still managed to piss them off. She was carried away by a group of centaurs kicking and screaming.

Then the centaurs faced the remaining three. They restrained Harry and Hermione quickly, but as if sensing Percy's aura, only encircled him.

"Who are you? Humans are not welcome in our forest."

Percy did the safe thing and bowed. "Mighty centaurs. I apologize for the intrusion. That woman you carried off led us here. As she said, she works for the Ministry. Under false pretenses, we were escorted into the forest. She intended to presumably take over your land. We had no knowledge of this if it's true. If you let us leave, we won't cross arms again."

"Your words are pretty, but you are no human. What are you?"

Now Hermione and Harry were confused and wondering the same question.

"My name is Perseus Jackson. I am the son of Poseidon. They call me the Hero of Olympus."

At his name, the centaurs lowered their weapons. At his title, they inclined their heads.

"Perseus Jackson. We have heard of your feats, your bravery, your compassion. Our centaur cousins speak highly of you. For this, we will allow you to leave with your companions, on the condition that you keep your promise to not cross into our territory again."

"You have my word. But you know very well there is a war coming. Your forest might not be spared from it. If your land needs extra protection, tell the tree nymphs or any water creature to contact me. I'll ask Chiron to send help."

"Thank you, Perseus Jackson. The great centaur is well respected by our kind. Send our gratitude in advance."

Then the centaurs stormed back into the forest leaving a relieved young Professor and two shocked students.

"You're a son of who?"

"The hero of what?"

Percy just sighed. "We don't have time. Let's get back to the castle and-"

Before he could finish his sentence he threw up a shield from the stunning spell aimed at him.

It was Luna of all people who cast it. Percy figured the rest didn't tell her his secret.

"Stop!" Hermione shouted. Luna still had her wand raised but didn't move to shoot a spell either. "He's on our side, Luna. We promise." Reluctantly, Luna lowered her wand.

"Alright, you need to get out of here."

"No!" Harry shouted. "We need to save Sirius!"

"Does this have to do with any weird doors in the Ministry of Magic?" Percy inquired.
