Ayy, I know many of you have waited for this!
Same background and triggers as part 1.
-----------
"I'm hosting a meetup in Brighton, with any of the SMP members willing to come. That includes you, Tommy." Dream began, his excitement heard in his words.
"What, are you trying to do the Brighton meetup 2.0. You know that got a lot of views, big man." Tommy couldn't help but feel the push of anxiety in his stomach as he agreed to go, knowing that his father trusted Tommy's friends after the first Brighton meetup.
At least he knew Wilbur and the other members of the Sleepy bois were going. They were his second family, as much as they probably hated him. He heard them talking about a meetup in a vc once, but never really asked them about it, not wanting to intrude.
He didn't know why Dream invited him, but he would take it.
----------
Two weeks later, his father gave the blessing to go to the Brighton meetup.
The reason it had taken so long was that Tommy had forgotten to ask his parents about it, as he'd been stressed and had taken not-so-nice methods to relieve that. His father was relieved when he asked, most likely because he hadn't seen his son leave the house in months, rather preferring to create entertainment for his audience.
Tommy was reluctantly packing for the trip, with his father planning their path to Brighton and putting petrol in the car.
He packed light, with a couple of pairs of clothes, a few masks, a hand sanitiser and his devices. He considered taking his anxiety medication but he decided against it just in case anyone went through his things, although he did take a dose just before he left.
Dream had texted him the details after he had told him what was going on, and Tommy double-checked to see if he got everything right.
4 days in Brighton.
8 people coming: Dream, Tommy, George, Techno, Wilbur, Phil, Niki and Sapnap.
Should be easy enough.
Tommy couldn't help but feel the uneasy pit in his stomach as he got into the car, though. It was about a three-hour drive, so he hoped he had time to calm his nerves.
In all honesty, Tommy just wished Tubbo was coming.
The boy had known him for such a long time so Tubbo held most of Tommy's secrets delicately. The 17-year-old knew his greatest insecurities and treated Tommy like he was fragile. Their offline friendship was interesting but beautiful to the people who pass by.
Condensation began to form on the insides of the car windows as the morning frost met the car heater overexerting itself just to meet the setting Tommy put it on when he first entered. Tommy's dad didn't mind and preferred to focus on the busy roads and the radio station he was listening to. The blonde guessed it was this kind of car ride, and he didn't mind at all.
He pulled out his cheap earbuds and plugged them into his phone, preferring the better quality of these to his AirPods. There was a simple comfort to having the warm air blasting in his face while listening to music early in the morning, but Tommy would have gone for having the chilly wind in his hair with the window down. Wasn't really an option though.
A particular song came on in his Spotify playlist, one he remembered well. It was a good mood though, and he didn't want to fill it with self-hate, so he skipped the song called 'Body' in favour of Wilbur's songs. They felt perfect for a long car ride.
