Background: SBI are brothers, Tubbo and Tommy are best friends, and this is right before the election after the independence war. Respawns are on in this AU but has the same principles as some of my other oneshots.

----------
Today was a lovely day.
Tommy and Tubbo were sitting peacefully on their favourite hill. It overlooked what felt like the whole world. You could see the freshly replanted trees inside the walls of L'manberg, and the lake of the community house.
The two best friends were cuddling on the very edge of the cliff, the red and light green flowers surrounding them perfectly, as well as the bees landing on the boys occasionally.
Tubbo was occupying his hands with a red daisy chain, as he moved closer to Tommy as the sun fell below the horizon. It was going to be colder soon.
Tommy looked down at the brunette and ruffled his hair, before wrapping his arms around the smaller boy and pulled him closer. It was quiet nights like these that Tommy really appreciated their friendship.
Tubbo was the only one who would give him proper physical affection.
"We should really go now, Tommy," Tubbo said, much to Tommy's disappointment.
"Nah, Tubbo. It's really nice here." Tommy mumbled sleepily. Tubbo laughed at his friend's words. They were so different from his normal antics.
Tubbo pulled away briefly to carefully place the flower crown on the younger's head, watching as the boy protested quietly and then accepted it. Tubbo giggled at how the colour perfectly matched the red and white shirt he wore when Wilbur wasn't around.
The flowers here also matched his own green and white shirt (Seriously Tubbo has his own green Tommy shirt and it's awesome). This really was their spot.
"If you want to stay here, I'll let you. I really have to go meet up with Eret though." Tubbo stated into the still, quiet air.
Tommy had already come to terms with the fact that Tubbo and Eret were still good friends after the betrayal. He trusted Tubbo to not get hurt, after all.
"Okay, stay safe Tubs."
A small farewell and the sound of footsteps retreating.
It was so peaceful.
The stars started to emerge, and the gentle glow of the full moon was reflected in his eyes. It was nights like these that he could let his guard down...
Drift asleep...
----------
Blood.
There was nothing but blood.
His knee was bleeding out, and he'd already died too many times today. He couldn't take going through the agony of respawning and waking up in a big box at spawn with a new scar. Not again.
He hastily wrapped up the wound after pulling the arrow out and returned to the fight.
They were losing miserably.
He watched as Wilbur was shot down from the large cobblestone wall surrounding their great nation. The leader frantically waved for his brother to run away from the fight. They were not going to win this battle.
The blonde started running, only stopping to help his best friend and partner in crime. Tubbo was on the ground screaming out in pain as Fundy protected him from Dream. The boy yanked Tubbo up as he ran by, not waiting for Fundy or Wilbur to follow them.
Tubbo was his priority.
They were barely past the hill overlooking the SMP when suddenly the brunette was thrown forward without warning. He had a green arrow in his back.
"TUBBO NO!" The boy yelled, catching Tubbo before he fell.
The taller boy carefully held Tubbo as they collapsed to the ground, frantically pushing his brown hair back as he set out to check if his eyes were still responding.
The light in those blue orbs was fading and quick.
"Tubbo, stay with me!" The boy sobbed desperately, not bothering to see if the enemy was behind him.
There was nothing to do as the older boy died in the sprouting red and green flowers on the hill. Tommy looked behind him to see a porcelain white smiley face staring blankly at him.
He screamed.
"Tommy, Tommy, Tommy,"
----------
Tommy woke up gasping, immediately sitting up. He didn't notice the lean figure that had woken him up scramble back in an effort to not be in the way of the blonde sixteen-year-old.
Tommy sat there for a few minutes to recover from his nightmare and pulled himself into a cross-legged sitting position. It was hard not to notice the mask of his nightmares continuing to stare at him.
Tubbo had respawned of course, but seeing someone you loved like a brother die in front of you is traumatic, no matter the circumstances. He had the same nightmare every time.
"Tommy, what's going on?"
Tommy's eyes flicked over to the emotionless figure about five metres away. He was the reason.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" The boy scoffed.
Tommy trained his eyes on the beautiful flowers. The full moon was right above his head, illuminating the vibrant colours. Tommy smiled through the tears about to spill out of his eyes. He could have sworn he saw the bloodstain on the short grass.
"Woah Tommy, what's wrong?"
Tommy felt so disconnected, and he could barely register the green man's words. He just stared blankly at the one spot. It was like every light was pointing at it. Coaxing him to look at it.
The stealthy movement of Dream snapped him out of his stupor, and the boy immediately backs away to the edge of the hill. He hissed from the pain of dirt getting into his battle wounds as he scooted away, but he needed to get away from his nightmare.
He'll hurt me.
Dream was clearly startled at the sudden movement but moved forward so that the crying boy was trapped. Something was wrong with the boy and he needed to find out what.
Suddenly, there were footsteps in the distance and it wasn't long before Dream was pushed away from the sobbing boy, as Tubbo protectively held the frightened blonde, and Wilbur stood in front of the pair.
"What are you doing? Can't you see he's fucking traumatised because of you?" Wilbur said fiercely. It was quite the scene.
"My brother has been having nightmares of you, and you have the audacity to scare the shit out of him! Back off, Dream!"
"I-I'm sorry." Dream mentally cursed himself for coming near them and retreated to his home base.
----------
Tubbo watched helplessly as Tommy had a panic attack, but thankfully Wilbur took the reins and promptly calmed his brother the best he could.
The blonde fell asleep in Tubbo's arms and was carefully transferred to Wilbur's as the tall man carried him back to their safe nation, where nobody could hurt him.
Throughout the moon-lit night, Tubbo sat watching his best friend in his bunk bed. He was twitching, perhaps from another nightmare.
He quickly thought of the right thing to do, and promptly went under the covers of Tommy's bed, snuggling up to the bigger boy. Tubbo knew that Tommy secretly loved his cuddles.
For the rest of that night, Tommy slept soundly next to tubbo, and Wilbur glanced at them with gentle eyes. Their brother-like relationship could only be rivalled by Wilbur and Tommy's own, and right now, Tommy needed all the support he could get.
Perhaps we can dream of a better future for us all.
