I didn't fall in love with you cos my heart is glass
And it'll obviously crash, dashing all my wishes to the wind
Leaving me helpless with nothing to cling ...to.
I wasn't swept of my feet by your beauty,
If I did I'll still stand again,
Our ship will never sail.
If it did I'll always feel pain,
Regretting my wrong choice,
Questioning myself what I gaiined
From making a woman who doesn't care about my strifes
The love of my life,
It'll all just end in tears and that's my greatest fear.
We weren't love at first sight cos everything looks good from afar until u take a good look and see some are far from fine.
It sounds cruel but I'm not talking about looks,
I'm talking about the character of people,
I'm talking about impressions that we make that may never be erased from our record book ...the mind.
I learnt to love u,
Not for what you've done but for who you are and that'll never change...no matter the weather, sun or rain.
Since we're destined for eachother,
I know our bond will only get stronger.
Explanation:
The poem is about love, love that is real. Love, the real one not lust is what is pictured in the above poem. This love is not evoked by beauty or any other thing it's one that is because of "who you are" and not "what you've done". Everything about this person is what the poetic persons loves: the good the bad and the ugly.
