Not my art. Also, this chapter is pretty bad, so I apologize beforehand. Also, I may change Rowan's personality a bit.

"You failed, Rowan," Maeve said to him calmy. She was calm. He would rather see her angry. Whenever she was calm, something worse than death is in your near future. When Fenrys failed a mission, he had to do questionable stuff with her in bed. He felt bad for the man. Rowan, on the other hand, had never failed a mission. Hell, he just went on a date with the one he was supposed to kill.

"Yes, I know," he answered, snapping out of his thoughts.

"You let the most dangerous pit fighter slip through your grasp." she snarled at him. Somehow Maeve always made herself look pretty, but she looked ugly at the moment.

Wait, hold on. Most dangerous? Up until yesterday, he was the most dangerous pit fighter. "Does that mean that she is finally ahead of me on the scoreboard?" his voice dangerously low.

"What do you think, Rowan?" there was a moment's pause, but he knew that she was going to blow up any minute. "Of course, she got ahead of you! You'll have to kill her immediately to gain back your title!"

Kill Aelin? He could never bring himself to do it. She would probably kill him before he could get the chance to kill her. "Okay."

"And I want it done soon. If you fail, I'll kill you myself." She handed him a passed a potato sack, "put her head in this." Rowan took the sack and realized it already had cold red blood on it. Ew, he cringed, the smell was wretched. Rowan stood up and walked to the door when Maeve interrupted, "And plan with your brothers. I want them there to help you." he nodded and walked out of her office.

When he got to his room, his brothers were already there. Rowan walked to his bed and flopped down on it, face-first. "We heard about your failure," Lorcan said.

"We don't even know who this Celaena Sardothien is, do we?" Connall mused. He grabbed the bloody sack from Rowan and threw it in the sink.

"But, we do know who Celaena Sardothien is," Fenrys said. He promised Aelin he wouldn't tell, but when Rowan was in the equation, he had to. Fenrys liked Rowan more than anyone else in his group of brothers. He loved him more than he did his real brother, Connall.

"Who is it? Maeve has been nagging at me to find out who she is." Vaughan revealed. Vaughan was the detective of the group and usually, he could find out anything about anyone, so they were surprised when he couldn't find anything about Celaena Sardothien.

"Aelin is Celaena Sardothien." Fenrys just dropped a bomb on them. Everyone froze and looked at him.

"Aelin, as in the college quarterback? As in the girl Rowan just went out with. As in the girl who's my girlfriend's best friend? As in Aedion's cousin? As in the girl that I have actually started to wanted to befriend?" Lorcan asked, almost yelling.

"Yes," Fenrys replied. He was amazed. Everyone was amazed. Lorcan, of all people, wanted to befriend someone. That was unheard of in this home.

"Are you okay?" Connall smacked him. "Lorcan? Are you still in there? I think someone took over your body Lorcan." Connall started slowly, "You just said you wanted to befriend someone."

"It's still me you idiot." Lorcan snarled at them.

"So Aelin Galathynius is Celaena Sardothien," Gavriel said quietly. He was always the quiet one who observed everything, but he was quieter than usual. A tear slipped down his face. They had never seen Gavriel cry. This was a day full of many surprises.

"Why are you crying?" Rowan asked him, his voice rough.

"What is she doing?" he was scrubbing at his face, while more tears were falling down his face. "Why did my cousin choose this path?"

Rowan knelt in front of Gavriel, he put his hands on his shoulders and made Gavriel look at him, "What do you mean, Gavriel?"

He didn't answer. Rowan shook him, "What do you mean Gavriel?"

"She's my cousin." he heaved a sigh, "I-I took a blood test and found out that Aedion is my younger brother, so that means Aelin is my cousin." Gavriel spat out. Rowan examined him, the golden hair, the smirk that Aedion always has plastered on his face.

"Oh, you've got to be kidding me," Rowan mutters under his breath. "So if we kill Aelin we all lose someone, don't we?"

"How would I lose anything?" Vaughan asks. He only really like Aelin, everyone else he would ignore.  Even if she just said good morning to him, he would be in a good mood.

"You'd lose Aelin, the one who always puts you in a good mood," he answers. He had realized a few months ago that Aelin would talk to him and he would be in a good mood. Vaughan may not be the most vocal person, but he loves being talked to.

"I'd lose the girl I started going out with. Fenrys would lose his drinking buddies, Aelin and Aedion. Gavriel would be losing his cousin. Lorcan would have to deal with Elide, who is Aelin's best friend. Connall would be losing Aelin as a friend. And if Aelin's family found out, we'd lose all of them. They'd cut us out of their lives. Hell, they'd probably come to kill us." Rowan says he's pacing in circles.

"We can't do this," Connall says. He never really cared about anyone. The only people he's ever cared about were his brothers, but now he guessed he did care about someone other than him and his brothers.

"But we have to or Rowan's going to die," Gavriel interjected. "I mean, it's not like Maeve ever gone back on her threats. You know how she can be."

"Okay. I know I'm going to regret murdering her in the end, but let's make a plan." Rowan breathed.

Aelin POV

Elide helped Evangeline cook a dinner of spaghetti for dinner. Some of the noodles were hard and Aelin almost chipped her tooth, but besides that everything was good. After dinner, they were in the living room, Aelin reading a book, and everyone else watching the t.v when she got a chill down her back. It felt like someone was plotting to kill her.

"Aedion," she whispered. He had his arm around Lysandra's shoulder, but he twisted his head to look at her. Lys was passed out, half-drooling on Aedion's chest.

"What is it?" he whispered, careful not to wake Lys up. She was usually nice, but when you disturbed her sleep, she'll be as mad as a snow leopard.

"I have a feeling someone is plotting my death." another chill raked itself down her spine.

Aedion rolled his eyes, "Someone is always plotting your death. Of course, they never get away with it." He faced back towards the t.v as if the case was closed.

"I know that, but it feels different this time. I don't know how to explain it. It's like a feeling of dread. Like when you have that feeling when you're going to do something so reckless that you'd almost die doing it." Aelin whispered. Something was wrong and she could feel it, in some deep part of her.

"Just sleep on it. Maybe you'll feel better." Aedion suggested. Aelin nodded, knowing that sleeping on it was not going to make anything better.

She got up from her seat on the couch and kissed Aedion's forehead, "Night cuz." With that, she got up and walked to her room.

She got changed into a loose shirt and some short shorts. She was about to snuggle with Fleetfoot when her phone rang. Who the hell could that be? She groaned but picked up the phone.

"Hello?" she asked the person on the other side of the phone.

"Yes, is this Aelin Ashyver Galathynius?" a deep voice from the other end of the phone asked.

"Yeah, who is this?"  Aelin already had a gun in her hand. Just in case the person on the other side of the phone happened to be near her house.

"This is the Erilea Police Department, we know who killed Nehemia Ytger."
