The school day was finally over! Football practice got canceled and Aelin had nothing to do. She walked to her locker with her best friends Lysandra and Elide. "So how's advanced Science class?" Lys drawled.

Aelin shrugged, "So-so. Got in trouble with Mr. Gavin and got paired with Whitethorn for a project."

Elide snorted, "You've only been in the class for a day and the teacher resents you."

Aelin feigned a gasp, "You think so lowly of my behavior, he doesn't resent me, he just... dislikes me."

From the corner of Aelin's eye, she saw Elide roll her eyes. "Whatever Aelin." They rounded a corner and once again Whitethorn was leaning against her locker. "See ya later." Elide mumbled.

Aelin turned around, "No wait! Don't leave me with him." But they were already gone. She cursed them.

"We heard that Aelin," Lysandra shouted from somewhere down the hall.

"What do you want Buzzard?" Aelin walked to him, her steps slow, gaze fixated on Rowan.

"When are we going to do the project?" Aelin shoved him out of the way and started unlocking her lock.

"We could start today." She unlocked her lock and opened her blue-colored locker. She shoved her books inside and grabbed her red, orange, and yellow-colored backpack. Aelin shut her locker and looked at Rowan who was already staring at her.

"We could do it at my place." Aelin considered and realized that she didn't trust Whitethorn enough to go into his house.

"How do I know you won't try anything?" That was how her hookup with Chaol started. They were working on an English paper and one thing led to another and she had lost her virginity.

Rowan looked absolutely revolted and snarled at her, "I would never touch a woman without her full consent." He rubbed the back of his neck, "I-I'm not that sort of male. Why would you even think that." He looked up at her, his gaze filled with distress.

"We're doing it at my house. Be there, in an hour." he nodded his Adam's apple bobbing.

Exactly an hour later a knock sounded at the door. "I'll get it," Aedion shouted at Aelin from downstairs.

"No, I'll -------" Too late Aedion opened the door.

"What are you doing her Whitethorn?" He waited a second and Rowan opened his mouth to say something but Aedion interrupted, "Whatever it is it can't be important." He closed the door but got stopped by Rowan's shoe.

"I'm not here for you. I'm here for your cousin." Aedion apparently forgot about the project we were supposed to be doing.

"Please tell me you're not fucking her." Aelin blushed and so did Rowan. He was as red as a tomato.

"No Aedion, he is not. He's here for the science project." Aelin said as she breezed past him and opened the door. Rowan stepped inside, still blushing but not as much.

"Why? It's due at the end of the semester." Aedion asked as he walked back to the gray couch to continue watching television.

Aelin counted in her head, "Which ends in nine weeks." Aedion shrugged and his gaze went back to the television. "C'mon Whitethorn, we're going to my room."

They wandered up the stairs and turned the corner to find the white door of her bedroom. She opened it and walked inside, Whitethorn on her heel. He stopped at the doorway and gawked.  He was looking at her built-in bookcase lining the walls. "You've read all of those?"

 "You've read all of those?"

"Most of them. Do you like it? Aedion built it for me a few years ago." She smiled and he looked at her.

"I've been told that you were a bookworm but jeez Aelin." she laughed and Rowan smiled.

"Here." she pointed to a worn-looking white leather couch, "We can sit here while we work. I'll get a table later. What kind of project are we working on?"

Rowan rolled his eyes, "Physics project."

"So what should we do?" Aelin questioned as she took a seat on the right side of the couch.

"I've decided between making an electromagnetic and making a fused model," Rowan answered as he plopped down on the other side of the couch.

Aelin turned around to face him and braced her arms on her knees, "Which one is going to blow up or cause a fire?"

"If we do it right, none," Rowan said nonchalantly and he played with the string on his hoodie.

Aelin leaned back into the couch, "Then what's the fun in doing it?" she pouted.

"Now I'm starting to see why Mrs. Elena kicked you out of her class." He muttered as he also started leaning into the couch.

"She did not kick me out," she said defensively as she crossed her arms over her chest, "She was just annoyed that I kept correcting her."

"Whatever you say, Fireheart," he replied.

"The electromagnetic thing." she said as she twirled a piece of her blonde hair.

"What?" he asked as if he did not hear her.

"I want to do the electromagnetic thing for the project." he nodded and unzipped his blue backpack and pulled out a green notebook.

"Lets get started. Shall we?"
