“May I ask what we are doing here, Abigail?” the devil asked.
“Oh hush, you'll love it here”
As they make their way to the ocean.
It’s not often you get to see a sunrise-gold beach. That was their privilege as they gazed out at the slothful sea. Ebbing ever so gently, it looked at peace in its jade-green gown.It felt like they were walking on a carpet of candy floss, such was its softness. The golden sand swept around in a scythe of beach, hemmed in by towering dunes. Far out to sea, rivers of pulsing light saturated the sea with gold. Only the occasional tourist walked past us. There was an absence of sun-blasted bodies in this Babylon of beaches.
The horizon seemed to be stitched with a silver line. The seagulls were squawking over our heads and squabbling for morsels from the hotel.
“I do not find sunsets..enjoyable”
Abigail raised her brow, "Why?” she asked.
“There are no sunsets in the demon realm. It's all a dark void”
“Is this your first time seeing one?”
He scoffed, “No, ofcourse not. I have seen it plenty of times”“Oh, really?”
“Yes”They watched until the sun was nowhere to be found. Now that the show's over, they stood up, ready to be on their way home.
Lucifer's stomach growled as he stood up.
“..It seems like I'm ready for dinner..” to which Abigail burst into laughter.“You dare laugh at me? Lucifer?” he nearly yells but Abigail wasn't paying him any mind.
After a few seconds, she finally stopped, tears in her eye.
“Let's go eat, shall we? You must be famished” she giggled.“Shall I gobble you up right now?”
“What?”
“What?”A pause. Awkwardness suddenly formed between them.
“You're weird, Lucy” as she walks faster, leaving the devil behind.Lucifer yelled, “What's wrong with what I said?”
They decided to obey their rumbling stomachs and eat. Meat and poultry was their fare that everning. It tasted tender and briny and the food sauce had a hint of bouquet to it.
In a blink of an eye, it has already been a month since the deal was sealed. They mostly spent their time looking for companions yet leaving them two alone at the end of the day.
While they were on their way back, they passed by a night market which is full of people. Being the way is tight, Abigail bumped into a few people until she was pushed down.
“Oh no! Are you okay, Miss?” the man asked as he lended his hand.
“No, I am not but it's alright” reaching for his hand.
When she finally stood up, there she met a ravishing tall person wearing an animal shirt.“..Asmodeus..” the devil called out to which the man shivered as he slowly looks at Lucifer.
“My Lord” he suddenly went on his knees and bowed.
“It has been long, Asmodeus” Lucifer began, “Rise” to which Asmodeus stood.
“I didn't know you were here, My Lord. Forgive me, I haven't felt your presence at all”
Lucifer nodded and glimpsed at Abigail, she was confused.
“Who is this young lady?” as he grabs her hands.
Abigail trembled, “Oh..I am Abigail” he pecks her hand.“A wonderful name. Would you like to hang out with me, if you're alone?” he smiled.
Lucifer slapped his hand and grabbed Abigail's, “Stop that, Asmodeus”Asmodeus was shocked as to why the devil had done that, for before, he didn't care what the other devil's did to humans for he was busier than anyone else.
“Oh my..My apologies, My Lord” he bowed once more, “Where will you be going, if I may ask, My Lord?”
The devil cleared his throat as he lets go of Abigail's hand, “I have some business downtown. So If you'll excuse me, I shall be on my way”
“Be careful on your way, My Lord” bowing down.
As they make their way to Abigail's house, Abigail spoke, “Asmodeus? Lust?” to which Lucifer nodded.
“You are correct. If you ever see him again, you mustn't come near him”
“Hmm” she pondered, “So demons do live with humans, huh” and Lucifer nodded again.
“Yes, others live with humans to cause them despair and suffer while others just want to know what it feels like again..To be human”
“You're always serious, Lucy” she chuckled.
“Stop calling me that”
“What? Lucy?”
“That's right”
“..Lucy..”
“Stop!”Abigail laughed, “Luuucy! Lucy, Lucy!”
The devil can do nothing but groan, “You are so annoying, do you not know that?”
“Thank you”
“Wh—That wasn't a compliment” he nearly yells while Abigail laughed. The devil is starting to warm up to Abigail. It's strange how a person can stay friend with a person who clearly doesn't want to be just friends.
