They say once you have mastered being alone, you are ready for the company of others, that doesn't make it easy though. When everyone's life journey separated from her own, when the only heart beating in this house belonged to her, it wasn't something most could take.

For there are days when the brain becomes a cold fire, perhaps that is what others call panic, but when you are alone, who are you going to call? I guess the good news is that in time, after many unpleasant days, you are okay.

Then you find joy again, or maybe it finds you. After that, your journey can change, take on new and exciting adventures...I wish I could wave a magic wand for you who are alone, but there are somethings you must learn the hard way.

Abigail had always liked drinking tea alone, and reading alone. She likes riding the bus alone and walking home alone. Eating alone and listening to music alone.
But when she sees a mother with her child; a girl with her lover; or friends laughing in the sun...She realize that even though she likes being alone...She doesn't fancy being lonely.

Abigail knew the moment she started to cry, she was alone. She cried slowly, with tears dripping down her temples and the soft hum of her own voice echoing throughout the room. She knew she existed and breathed. It was as simple and beautiful as the strumming of a guitar. Yet, she meant nothing to anyone. She was alone, sinking deeper and deeper within her own music.

The rest of the world could be seen, drifting farther and farther away as teardrops made up her ocean. They fell into her parted lips and stuck to her eyelashes. She could taste them, rolling down her parched throat. She was alone.

She had lost herself.

She had lost herself in an endless ocean.

After her mother, who she had always looked up to, died. The world slowly drifted away from her fingers. And slowly, her friends began leaving her too, on with their own journey. It was only her and her father. However, her father wasn't always at home. He's always in different places, with different women. So she loathe him, for he was the reason why her mother died.

She always wanted some company. A friend or two will do, just to ease the pain, to fill the hole inside her heart. Yet, 13 years has passed and no one filled the hole. Not one.

One day, Abigail went to the attic to find a book to read in her mother's library. She recently became interested in stories about fairytales and demons and such.

As she was searching, a book fell down out of nowhere. Out of curiosity, she picked it up.
“A Deal with Lucifer” was its titled. Its dark red with bold font yet the name of the author was nowhere to be found. She slowly opened it, and suddenly, a beam of light came from the book filling the entire room with lightness.

She opened her eyes when the light slowly vanished when a tall, dark haired man, in a black suit with wings on his back appeared in front of her. But she wasn't that shocked for her mother would tell Abigail different kinds of stories from her past. And this, is just like one of those.

“Well, that was quite the entrance, wasn't it?” he chuckled lightly as he scrubs off feather on his clothes.
She examined him from head to foot, he doesn't look like a devil, she thought,
“...Who are you..?” he raised his brows, “You don't know who I am?” he asked and she shook her head lightly.

He cleared his throat, “I am Lucifer Morningstar, obviously. My name's written on the book”

“But you don't look like Lucifer”
“I'm in my human form, that's why”
“Is that so?”
“It is, yes. Anyway, what kind of deal do you wish for?” getting directly straight to the point.

Everyone knows that making a deal with the devil can mean any exchanges the devils wants. It gives you what you really want, making you happy for a while. Until he asks for the exchange of your wish. Either your soul, the life of your loved ones, and many more the devil wishes. It might look like a win-win situation, but you're always the loser here. The devil always wins.

But things are different for Abigail, with her life so pale and empty, she has nothing to lose. She even lost herself. There's nothing more to take than her life. And no one wants a life more empty than the devil itself.

“What will it be?” he asked once again.
“I wish..to not be lonely..”
“Consider it done”
And there the magic happened, a click with his finger and the wind suddenly rushed through the room and lights that shined like the stars filled the room once again. The light circled around her and after that, it was instantly gone. And everything went exactly like before, as if nothing happened.

“It is accomplished” giving himself a round of applause.
“I don't feel any different” as she feels her body. She started doubting that the guy infront of him is someone other than the devil.
“Oh you will”
“How so? I'm still lonely” she crossed her arms.
“You're not. I'm here to keep you company” he grinned.
“..What..? You'll be my friend?” she sounded like a little kid whose been given the toy she always liked.

“Yes. Temporarily. However, I will gladly help you make friends. What is your name?”
She felt a tingling feeling inside her heart. The rusty heart that has been frozen for a long time, slowly started to move.
“..Abigail..Francisco”
Lucifer suddenly froze when she heard her name. “Abigail Francisco?” he repeated to which Abigail nodded.
“..Are you perhaps, the daughter of Dorothy?”

She slowly nodded, "..Yes, I am. Why do you know her?”
“It's a secret” as he laughed lightly.
A thought came to her. Maybe it's him her mother was telling her about.
“Well then, let's go shall we?” making his way through the door.
“Where to?”
“To have friends”
