“What kind of friend do you like?” Lucifer asked as they sat down at a restaurant. Weird things have happened in less than a day yet Abigail remains sane.

“Can people see you?”
“Ofcourse, as long as I'm in my human form, I'm visible. Drop-dead gorgeous to top it all” he chuckled.
“So? Do you prefer a noisy friend who you can lean on but tells your secrets to other people or the shy type but talks behind your back?” he smiled.

“You got some great choices there” she sarcastically laughed.
“Can't you be my friend, instead?” she added.
The devil was surprised with the sudden suggestion. He never thought about it before. The devil doesn't have friends, he has servants. People lower than him, not equal.

“Me?” he laughed, “Friends with you?” he laughed again, “You can't possibly be serious” and yet Abigail stares at him intently.
“...You're serious..?”
Abigail nodded lightly.

The devil cleared his throat and replied, “I'll think about it. For now—”
The devil couldn't finished what he had to say for the food they had ordered was done and is now being served.

“..Abigail..” the waitress began.
The three of them were shocked as the waitress called out to her. Abigail didn't notice that it was someone she knew for she was looking at the window, to avoid eye contact with anybody.
“..Uh..Ivy..”
The atmosphere around them was so awkward, it was suffocating. To break the silence, Lucifer spoke up.

“So you were friends?”
Abigail glared at him.

“..Well..Uhm..I guess. We went to the same school in high school” said Ivy,  playing with her fingers
“So..you had friends..” Abigail glared at Lucifer. “What do you think of me?” to which Lucifer shrug.

“How have you been? It's been so long”
Abigail fiddled with her fingers, a heavy silence settled over them, thicker then the uneasy tension in the atmosphere. Unsettled eyes glanced unceremoniously around and tried to avoid catching other glances that passed by.

“..Abigail..?” the devil asked to which she flinched. “Ah—Yes! Wh..what?”

“I asked how you were doing” in a lower voice.
“Ah!” Abigail nearly yells. “I have been good, thank you for asking” they both smiled.

“So uh, Lucy” kicking his feet under the table when Lucifer groaned.
“We must go. You have an appointment, right?” staring deadly at him.

She must not recognize that she is talking to the devil, himself. Yet, she treats him like a normal old friend whom she knows from way back. The audacity.

“What? No—” he groaned again when Abigail kicked his feet, this time, harder.
“Right?” in a more serious tone.
The devil tried to be patient of this girl and smiles, "Yes, silly me. I forgot, now we shall be on our way” he stood up and put some cash on the table.

“I must thank you for being our..server” he smiled.
They both stood up and went on their way, leaving Ivy.. confused.

“You didn't tell me you had friends before” the devil began.
“You don't have to know..And they're not my friends” crossing her arms. They were on their way to Abigail's house.
“Then where will you find a friend Abigail?”
“I already have one”
he scoffed, “Oh? And who, may I ask?”
“You”

“...What...?” the devil was left dumbstruck. Friends? The devil shall not need friends nor company. It's a burden. His heart suddenly began beating faster..but maybe, he thought, it was because of how he ran while walking. An excuse to trick his mind so that he won't be vulnerable..again.

Not Anymore.

But this girl. Whose world was shattered, her heart torn into pieces. He pondered, if where are the missing pieces to her heart. Yet, she still shines. Like a star in the void. Alone yet she isn't lonely. A wonderful piece of art.

“Well..I figured we're gonna stay for a very long time so why not be my friend? No complains, Lucy”
“Lucy? You mortal with much shorter life spans than me, who have lived for thousands years, dared. To call me. Lucy?” he roared. He wasn't mad, rather intrigued.

“You have the guts of a lion. Do you want to be killed, young Abigail?” he smirked to which Abigail chuckled.
“Yes, please”
The devil remained silent.

“..Are you..joking..?”
She laughed, “What do you think?”
“I do not know” he mumbled.
“Then, you shouldn't”

“Let's hurry. I want to lay down on my bed and watch anime and read manga”
“..Anime?..Manga?” he asked.
“Oh you don't have those in hell? That's..so sad. Then, let's watch later! It's fun, I tell ya!” as she slaps his back lightly. Like friends do.

“Sounds interesting”
“I know right!” she laughed.

For a moment, they forget about things..The deal, contract, jobs, and maybe how his a devil. A devil mustn't be close to a mortal. They mustn't interact with them. For the devils are terrifying, merciless, and dreadful that are to be feared by the humans.
