Chapter Thirteen

"I swear, I give up on you." Johnny uttered before rolling his eyes on Jaehyun.

Jaehyun just clicked his tongue and didn't mind his friend. It's not his fault that he can't get his ass to talk to Taeyong on the evaluation day, he literally felt hot all over his body while watching him.

But he's not sexualizing him, okay.

It's Saturday and the results already came out, Taeyong got the first place this time with 98.4% And Jaehyun could only feel two things, proud and bitter. He's in between.

I should stay on the bitter side.

Oh fuck pride.

"Where are you going?" Johnny asked when he noticed the younger getting dressed, "Nowhere?"

On top of that, Taeyong's at home staring at the results. He expected it, but nothing feels right. He's just chilling alone in his room.

"Sir," he heard a maid knock. "Come in." He ordered sleepily. The maid came in, "Your mom is on the line, she wants to talk to you."

Taeyong nodded and lazily stood up, he went to the living area of his room where the telephone is. He picked it up right away, "Hello?"

[ "Hey, are you studying right now??" ]

"I just woke up."

[ "You see, I'm supposed to attend a charity there today but I forgot about it. It would be too late for me if I'll still go there to Seoul from China, can you attend it for me? My secretary will pick you up there in an hour so be ready, okay? You don't have to do anything when you get there, just help, greet them with a smile. Just basic and common sense things. Bye, sweetie. Love you." ]

"Love you—" the line got cut. Too..

Taeyong sighed, he just woke up and he almost can't understand what his mom just said. But atleast he heard it loud and clear.

So he got ready, wore some casual clothes so people there wouldn't treat him like he's a god or something. Black fitted pants, plain white loose shirt, and a cap cause he's too lazy to fix his red hair.

But it still shines.

The secretary of his mom arrived, Taeyong was quiet the whole ride and keeps on spacing out. "Jung Orphanage," Taeyong read when the car entered the lot.

It's the orphanage that's owned by Mr. Jung, APA's school director. And if Taeyong would try to remember, it's also the place where Jaehyun grew up— based on what he've heard before.

Taeyong was about to help in getting the box donations when the secretary stopped him, "You don't have to do this, Mr. Lee." She smiled.

"But I'm here to—"

"Your mom never do this kind of things, sir." She explained. "What she does is play with the kids. Feed them and take care of them for the whole day. You can do those instead of helping with the boxes."

Taeyong's mouth fell open when he heard those. He just can't believe his mom was doing things with the kids that she never did with him.

A little bit of jealousy occurred but he just smiled. Atleast his mom is a good woman.

He just did what he was told to. He roamed around the orphanage, the kids are having fun. Is this the kind of place Jaehyun grew up? It's not that bad then.

I grew up with a family, but doesn't feel like it. While he grew up without one, but there are people that he could treat as a family.

Bittersweet.
