Chapter Fourteen
Midnight, the skies are too dark and the wind is too cold. Taeyong can't see nor feel that since he's inside his locked room— windows and doors are closed.
Ever since he got home from the orphanage this afternoon, he locked himself and never went out. He didn't even reply to his friends' texts. He's just.. thinking things.
He still doesn't know the reason why Jaehyun opened up to him, nevertheless, Taeyong felt happy cause Jaehyun must be comfortable with him to tell those kind of things.
But what's bugging Taeyong is what Jaehyun told him after opening up,
"But hey, don't pity me. Don't think of giving up the spot again for me, it's not my pride this time though."
"You said.. your dream is the thing that keeps you alive. Don't worry, I can—"
"No- I mean, yeah. My dream was the thing that keeps me alive, but it's different now.."
".."
"It's 'someone' now."
Taeyong didn't dare to ask more after that, he ate lunch with the charity and left after saying he doesn't feel good. He panicked.
He's not sure but he felt that Jaehyun's about to say something that he isn't ready to hear yet. He doesn't wanna conclude things but he also just wanna be secured.
Taeyong doesn't even know why he's overthinking it. Is he concerned? But why? Cause he treats him as his friend? Taeyong doesn't know anymore.
His feelings are like riding a rollercoaster.
He's disappointed in Jaehyun for betraying him, he's happy when he sees him, he was hurt when he saw him cried— now Taeyong's trying to connect the dots but still can't seem to know the reason why.
He sighed and looked at his phone, he needs a distraction. Nevermind, he'll just study at the middle of the night.

It's already the second week of September, and for the first time— everyone's life was peacefully hell— hell cause of school works. But still in peace.
Taeyong avoided Jaehyun at all cost. Even when he could only see the younger's shadow, he'll escape and run away.
Ten and Yangyang noticed it of course, but they didn't force Taeyong to say something- cause their hyung wouldn't run away if he's ready to speak up about it.
Jaehyun, on the other hand, just let him. He's not sure why the older's avoiding him- maybe because he hasn't really forgiven me yet? He just comforted me. He believed.
And he thinks that it's actually better like this. He doesn't wanna have hopes, Taeyong is straight— plus, even though he isn't— it's still impossible for Taeyong to have feeligs for someone like him- who did so many horrible things to the older.
"Announcement, everyone please pay attention."
Jaehyun, along with the three, stopped eating when someone spoke over the speakers.
"September's monthly evaluation will be cancelled. I repeat, September's monthly evaluation will be cancelled. Thank you, dear students."
Half of the cafeteria's population groaned, while the other half screamed in happiness. Jaehyun and Lucas groaned, they're already preparing a duo performance. While Yuta and Johnny did a high five, they're too lazy to practice.
"That means we got nothing to worry this month," Yuta sighed out of relief. "Start worrying about October then," Jaehyun shrugged.
He received a poker face from the three so he ended up laughing, "Just kidding, do what you want. Do I look like a boss to dictate you?" He rolled his eyes while still laughing.
