Ghosts Of Auroa

9. Behemoth

After taking down the Wolf sniper, and rescuing the gems. The group is now parking their car outside the cave of Erewhon, everyone gets out and the 5 gems look at the cave's structure.

Aragonite: "This is their base?"

Aragonite 3: "Looks rather...large and dark. How do these humans see?"

Ryder: "Well, it's cooler on the inside than it looks on the outside. Here, follow me."

He then walks through the camouflage nets and it surprises the gems who are amazed by this.

Aragonite: "Oooh. Interesting."

Aragonite 2: "Quite an interesting tactic for humans to do."

They follow Ryder through but then, they are stopped by the 2 Homesteaders which were guarding the entrance.

Homesteader Guard: "Stop! Who are you?"

Ryder: "Hey, hey, hey. These 5 ladies are with me."

Homesteader Guard 2: "Oh. Sorry, sir."

Ryder: "Come on, follow me."

The gems and the other Ghosts walk in and they enter the main part of the cave of Erewhon. The shine is shining through the cave's ceiling which is covered by more camouflage nets, and the gems look around the place in amazement.

Ryder: "Ladies, welcome to Erewhon, the cave of Auroa."

Aragonite: "Whoa...look at this place."

Aragonite 5: "It's incredible! You, humans, make some dwellings and quarters so unique."

Ryder: "Well this place belongs to a guy I know. His name's Mads Schulz. He's down there."

He points to an area which is near the waterfalls in Erewhon. There, Mads is observing the map of the archipelago of Auroa.

Aragonite: "I see, oh and what are these weapons of yours, human?"

She touches his pistol which is holstered on his leg.

Ryder: "Please don't touch that. It's called a gun. These smaller guns are called pistols. It fires a projectile of small metal at your enemies by this part of the pistol, called the hammer which strikes what's called a bullet. The bullets are loaded in packs called mags or magazines. When the magazine's empty, we reload. The larger one on my back is called a rifle. It's an automatic one meaning it can fire more than one shot when the trigger is pulled."

Aragonite: "Interesting. 4, be sure to get all this information."

Aragonite 4: "Yes, captain."

Ryder: "Captain? Interesting rank."

Aragonite 4 grabs out a hologram and starts typing in notes about what she heard when Ryder was talking. Jamie walks over to a part of Erewhon to get some food for him and Ryder, and even the gems. Meanwhile, Ellie and Tido go over to some cabins in Erewhon to rest.

(In the game you are unable to walk upstairs which is where there are cabins in Erewhon. But I'll make an exception for this book)

Aragonite: "Um, human, what's your name?"

Ryder: "It's Ryder. Ryder Kajika. My callsign is Grey Ghost."

Aragonite: "What's a callsign?"

Ryder: "It's like a nickname. It's so we can inform our teammates that it's us. You see, I'm part of an army, which is part of the United States. A country or a piece of land far from here. In the army, I'm part of a special group called the Ghosts. Just 2 days ago, we were taken down in our helicopters, vehicles we use for flying. Now we ended up here and we're being hunted."
