22. Cobalt & David

After being saved from the mysterious army, David is now in the forests with a blue woman named Cobalt. She guides David through the forests and they stop and Cobalt looks back to see that they're far from the houses.

Cobalt: "Right, we're safe now. So er...David right? Tell me, what or who are you serving?"

David: "Which kinda reminds me, what are you?"

Cobalt: "Well human, I'm what's called a gem. A species of intelligent life that are from a separate galaxy."

David: "Separate galaxy? So pretty much outer space? Whoa...so I'm talking to a hot blue alien chick."

Then, Cobalt tilts her head, slightly confused.

Cobalt: "A what?"

David: "Gah- a-um- I mean. Ignore what I said just now, don't question it. Anyway, what was your question from earlier?"

Cobalt: "Oh right. My question from earlier was what do you serve? You seem to have this thing around your neck."

She grabs out a pair of dog tags from her gemstone on her chest, and David picks it up to see that it's his dogtags.

David: "My dogtags. Where did you get this?"

Cobalt: "Those gems of the red army had it, they kept it in a separate building back there. I was there to in fact gather some information of what's been going on on this island. Except I found them, and you. I decided to save you. So, back to my question, what do you serve?"

David: "Right, right. I work with the Ghosts."

Cobalt: "Huh? I've heard of that word before... The Ghosts...hm.."

She puts her hand on her chin and begins to think of when she hear the word Ghosts for the first time. She then remembers.

Cobalt: "Wait, I remember...those humans with those metal headgear. With dark holes where their vision spheres are."

David: "Oh, the Wolves. Were they talking about us, the Ghosts?"

Cobalt: "Yes, yes they were. Something about hunting you. Which means you must be in grave danger."

David: "What? Wait, excuse me but it is my job to make sure you're safe. There's a reason we're called Ghosts."

Then, Cobalt turns around to see Wolves seeing David. With the group of Wolves, is a large Aamon drone.

Wolf: "There he is! There's the Ghost with one of the unidentified entities!"

They aim their weapons and open fire, mostly missing their shots. David quickly grabs Cobalt by her arm and they run through the forest away from the Wolves. As he runs, David shoots one of the Wolves, killing him.

*BANG*

Wolf 3: "AAGH!"

*BANG*

*BANG*

Wolf 2: "Target's escaping!"

Wolf: "Get after him! And inform nearby Sentinel troops that we've found a Ghost fleeing."

The second Wolf nods and grabs out a walkie talkie to inform nearby Sentinel soldiers about David while the first Wolf keeps shooting at him. As David runs through the forests, he then looks around to see that they're gone. He keeps looking around him and still hears the gunshots. He stops and hides behind a tree with Cobalt.

Cobalt: "What...what was that thing?! That large metal thing...it was massive!"

David: "From what I've heard, that's a drone. Aamon is what they call it."

Cobalt: "Aamon? It's-

David: "Ssh!"

He covers her mouth and the 2 of them hear the sound of car engines arriving in the area. David peaks to see Sentinel soldiers exiting their cars and they look around the area, clearly to search for David & Cobalt. The 2 of them can hear their footsteps get louder and David gets an idea and whispers it to Cobalt.

David: "I got an idea, don't worry."

He crouches down, and Cobalt does too, he then gets Cobalt to lay down quickly and covers her in some dirt, mud and leaves and David does the same too himself and stays still as he lays down too.

Cobalt: "Will this-

David: "sshh, don't move."

Cobalt & David hear the footsteps grow louder and since they're surrounded by some bushes, they'll blend in perfectly. Then, the Sentinel soldiers are looking around, and they can't see David & Cobalt who's blended in perfectly with his enviroment.

Sentinel Soldier: "Do you guys see them?"

Sentinel Soldier 2: "Nah, man. Nothing."

Sentinel Soldier: "Damn, they must've fled fast...alright, return to base. Inform the Wolves that we have no contact with them."

The soldiers walk away and David looks around to see them leaving. He now gets up and watches them drive away and he proceeds to help Cobalt up.

Cobalt: "You humans...you're so clever. Who taught you these er..."

David: "Tactics? An instructor of mine back in America."

Cobalt: "What is America?"

David: "It's a country. I'll explain everything later, right now we better get going. Those Wolves may be coming back. Let's go."
