It was strangely awkward, hanging out after school. Sophie and her friends just sat there, becoming really interested in their feet. It was really awkward so she decided to break the silence.

"So... how was your day?" she asked.

Keefe sighed dramatically. "Annoying!
Wonderboy kept on glaring at me and I just stuck my tongue out at him." He said it with so much pride, it was hilarious. Sophie loved how childish Keefe was. His perfect hair, his ice-blue eyes sparkling in the sunlight... and now she was daydreaming. Again. And no matter how much she tried, she couldn't get Keefe out of her mind.

"Can I come over to your house Sophie?" Biana suddenly asked. "I really don't wanna deal with Fitz. He's probably gonna break a bunch of stuff, yell at me, lock himself in his room and throw a giant tantrum, cursing you. Really annoying."

Sophie grimaced at the thought of Mr Perfect throwing this giant tantrum, Biana was describing. "Sure," she answered. "Do you guys want to come over to?" She looked at the boys.

"Anything better than going home," answered Keefe.

Sophie narrowed her eyes at Keefe. There was pain in his eyes when he mentioned his house. What happened there that made him dislike his home?

Dex shook her out of her thoughts. "Yes! I'm off from babysitting the triplets!"

"Triplets?" asked Biana in confusion.

"His three younger siblings," answered Sophie. "Rex, Bex and Lex."

"Awww!!" gushed Biana. "Your names rhyme!"

"My dad isn't as funny as he thinks he is," Dex grumbled.

"Also, how did you get here? Didn't you go to another high school?" asked Sophie.

"Well, the teachers didn't appreciate my hilarious gifts for the students. Got me suspended and I decided that coming here may be better instead."

"And gifts as in laughs?" questioned Sophie. "As in laughs because you continuously pranked the teachers?"

"Yep. My alchemy skills come in handy sometimes."

"Ooh! Slime?" asked Keefe.

"Yes, my own," answered Dex, proudly. "Sometimes I hide frogs in their desk or fart spray."

"I prefer frogs. Have you ever heard of the Great Toad Incident? That was the greatest day in all of history. Not that I had to do anything with it," said Keefe.

"Hey Dex," started Biana, "can we go to your house? I wanna meet your siblings."

"No, you really don't," replied Dex. "You really don't."

"Welp, too bad."

"Did you just invited yourself to my house?"

"Yep."

Dex rolled his eyes. "Fine. But let me warn you, they're in their Avatar phase.

"Which Avatar?" asked Keefe. "The blue one or the--" He waved his arms dramatically. "Water, Earth, Fire, Air. Long ago the four nations lived together in harmony. Then everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked..."

"You memorized that?" asked Sophie.

"Yep," answered Keefe proudly.

"Yeah... the second one," said Dex. "Bex is the earth bender, Lex is the water bender, Rex is the fire bender and I'm the air bender, because I'm the 'calm one'."

"Awwww, that's so cute!" said Biana. "Lead me away! To your house of course."

Sophie chuckled. Only Biana Vacker would ever invite herself to someone else's home.

When the teens arrived at Dex's house, three younger kids turned out blasting each other using their bending. You could tell them apart by their dimples. Lex had a dimple on his right cheek, Rex had one on his left, and Bex had one on each cheek like Dex.

"Haha!!" cackled Rex. "Feel the wrath of Fire Lord Rex!!!"

"We'll your little fire tricks won't stand against my metal bending!" yelled Bex, getting into her horse stance.

"My water will drench you all!!" screamed Lex, pretending to be a tsunami. "Haha!"

"Ooh, Dex!" said Bex, when she noticed her older brother's arrival. "Who's this?" she asked, poking Biana. "Is she your girlfriend?"

Dex blushed red. "No!" He turned to Biana, who was blushing pink. "Sorry," he apologized. "My annoying sister is, well, annoying."

Biana just giggled. "No problem. They so cute!"

Lex walked up to Biana. "You're pretty," he said, making puppy eyes. "Can I have some of your hair?" He held out his palm, expecting a few locks of Biana's hair to fall into his small hand.

"Uhh..." stuttered Biana nervously. "No?"

"Oh!" exclaimed Bex. "Hi Cousin Sophie!"

"Uh, you can call me just Sophie," said Sophie.

"Okay, Just Sophie!"

"Wait, cousin?!" asked Keefe, rather loudly.

"Yeah, didn't I tell you?" answered Sophie.

Biana and Keefe both shook their heads. "Nope," they replied in sync.

"Well then, this is my adoptive cousin Dex."

"Adopted?" asked Keefe, confused.

"Yeah... I was adopted..." Sophie said, her head dropping slightly.

"Uh... sorry..."

"I've got it!" yelled Bex, suddenly.

"What?" asked Biana.

"The blond dude is an earth bender, Sophie and the pretty lady are water benders," she explained, proud of herself.

"Cool!" exclaimed the other triplets and they all did some sort of secret handshake.

"Can we go in now?" asked Dex.

"Yeah, fine."
