Aang's POV:
I think I forgot how to breathe the moment I looked into their eyes. Her eyes. Oh my god, her eyes.
Katara's POV:
My breath hitched as I stared into their eyes. His eyes. Oh my god, his eyes.

Aang's POV:
We just sat there staring at each other for what could have been seconds or hours until I heard someone clear their throat. I looked around until my eyes landed on a guy who had the same skin color and eyes not as pretty as the girl's staring down at us. I'm guessing they're siblings. I was confused about why he was looking at me like I should die until I realized that the girl was on top of me and it probably looked wrong. Oops. I think she finally realized what was happening too because she quickly scrambled off and looked away blushing. I quickly got up too and was a blushing mess trying to apologize by the time the boy came up to me.
"What do you think you're doing, trying to feel up my sister!?" He shouted, glaring at me so hard that I wanted to shrink.
"No, Sokka, we weren't paying attention and ran into each other. That's it. Nothing else." I nodded so fast I thought my head was going to fall off. He glared at me one more time before grabbing the girl's hand and stomping away. It was right around then that I realized I had no clue where to go. I mean, I know I had to go to the main office, but WHERE is the main office. Figuring I could ask an older kid, I stepped into the school and was instantly overwhelmed. Kids were everywhere, and as I walked by, the first hallway, I counted at least 10 people doing *ahem* public displays of affection. Finally finding someone that looks like they know what they are doing, I asked them where to go.
"Um, hi. I'm new here and don't know where the main office is. Can you help me please?" The girl looked me over for a second before answering.
"It's the first door you see once you turn left at the end of the hall."
"Okie Dokie. Thanks! Bye!" I shouted over my shoulder as I walked past her. Once I got to the office, I found a line of at least 20 kids waiting in line for their schedule. After waiting for a few minutes, I finally got my turn to see what classes I had. An elderly lady, who introduced herself as Hama, gave me my schedule and told me to leave with nothing more than a goodbye. I checked my schedule to see where I had to go.

Locker 157
Not so bad, I had a good amount of electives even though I had to go to different floors each time. Since I still had a bit of time, I decided to find my locker first. I counted down the lockers by number. 151, 153, 155, AHA! 157. Putting most of my stuff into my locker, I closed it and snapped it shut with the lock that was in my bag. With that, I went off to find my homeroom. Gyatso told me to stay in the back of the class so I went there, only to find the girl from before. Shyly, I waved over at her. She could be a good friend or something more shut up, and she didn't look mean. So, I was excited when she waved back. I figured I could start the conversation since I'm super talkative.
"Hi! I'm Aang. What's your name?"
"Um, I'm Katara. Sorry for bumping into you earlier. I wasn't looking where I was going." She chuckled nervously.
"Oh. It's OK. I wasn't paying attention either." For the next half hour, we lapsed into easy conversation and learned a lot about each other. Her favorite colors were blue and surprisingly grey, she has a brother named Sokka, and she lost her mom. And the best part is we have the same schedule! (irk huge coincidence *wink wink*) We walked to history and when we got there, I saw an elderly man who introduced himself as Iroh. His class was awesome! The way he spoke made it seem like he was as interested in the subject of world war 2. When the class was over, I found myself disappointed.

FINALLY! Lunch! Oh my god, history was fun, but Joo Dee gave me the creeps and Jeong Jeong was so boring. I mean, I'm already really good at math and he just looked bored the whole time. Plus, I get to meet Sokka again, so maybe he won't want to kill me after lunch if I'm nice. I walked with my new group of friends to the cafeteria. They were all in my section, which meant we shared the same schedules. There was Toph, who was really aggressive and sarcastic, Sokka, who got held back a grade, and finally Suki and Zuko who kept glancing at each other. Turns out they went to the same middle school and were already friends. As we sat down at a table near the corner, Toph started the conversation.
"Uhg! Math was sooooo boooring. Like, are you going to fall asleep or something? Jeez"
"I know right! And Joo Dee looked like a robot," Sokka replied. Toph punched Sokka in the arm as we all laughed. It was so true! I swear, she didn't remove her weird smile the whole class. We all talked about random things until lunch was over then made our way to English.

"Bye guys"
"Bye Aang"
I waved over my shoulder as I got into Gyatso's car.
"Hello, Aang! How was your day?"
"It was great! In history, my teacher Iroh is really awesome but the art teacher is creepy and the drama teacher is weird and likes fortune-telling and the math teacher was boring and the English teacher was really strict and-"
"Wow, Aang, that sounds really nice! Were those kids back there your friends?"
I blushed in embarrassment when I realized I had been rambling. I nodded and stared outside the window until we got home. After dinner, I showered and flopped onto my bed. I fell asleep happy that I made new friends and excited for tomorrow.
Thanks for reading. I'm probably going to be making a book of connected drabbles with Mai and Aang. I need ideas of ways they would meet up, headcanon or not, and what would happen. The only thing to keep in mind is it has to end in a way that makes Mai think "what an oddball". Please leave suggestions for improvements or plot ideas. I have a general sense of what will end up happening, but I'm open to change.
Lastly, my updates will slow down because school is restarting soon. Hope you enjoyed it and stay tuned for more.
