Chapter 9: Sorry, Couldn't Make A Good Title

Oof. It's been too long. Sorry.

Anyways, this is where it gets into the Sci-Fi part, and you'll understand what I'm drawing inspiration from. This is what inspired me to make the whole story anyway.

Previously, on Avatar...

I look around at my friends all spread around my room and sigh. I think it's time. I gather everyone's attention by standing up.

"Guys, it's time I show you something. Nobody except for Gyatso knows of this, so you can't tell anyone, alright?" At their nods of approval, I start walking to my room to show them the biggest secret I have. Well, here goes nothing.

Now (Secs later):

Aang's POV:

We walk to my room in silence. I can tell they're trying to contain their excitement, but I'm just nervous. Once we get to my room, I go straight to my closet and open it before pushing all of my clothes out of the way. I smile sheepishly at my friends' incredulous looks and press a button near the back. The back wall opens up, revealing an elevator.

"Come on guys, do you want to see the stuff?"

Still shocked, they shuffled into the elevator while Aang pressed the down button. By the time they got down and left the elevator, I think they had mostly gotten over their shock and were now more curious than anything, at least that's what their faces showed. I finally was at the last door. Taking a deep breath, I turned around.

"Welcome to my secret basement. This is where I work on... uh... I call it Project X."

With that, I opened the door and showed them what I've been working on.

"Holy shit, man this looks amazing," Zuko exclaimed, while the others voiced their agreement

There were a few black tables with projections hovering above them, along with a bunch of robotic-looking arms. In the middle of my workshop, there was a chair surrounded by screens. In a corner of the room, there was a partially built suit. The suit looked like it was built out of metal and was silver but some parts were pitch black, the darkest shade imaginable. Those parts looked like they were sucking the light from things close to it. (A/N: lookup Iron Man's base from the first movie. That's what this part is inspired by if you couldn't tell.)

3rd Person POV:

Everyone was looking around the workshop in amazement while Aang went to the holographic projections and went to work - after all, his project isn't finished.

"Actually guys, I was thinking of making you suits too once I'm done with mine. Mine should be done in a few weeks. Most of the outline is done, it just needs to be made and given the right coloring. How does that sound?" At the sounds of agreement, Aang smiled.

"Alright guys, get outta here, I gotta do my work. Plus, you have homework too." Aang ushered them out and got to work. Alright, he thought, time to get to work.

2 weeks later:

Aang's POV:

I'm so excited! My suit is finished (A/N: for now...) and that means I could tell my friends! I ran over to them, ready to tell them the good news. Before I could though, my mind temporarily stopped working. Katara was looking really good today, more so than normal. Damn right kid, she lookin hella fine today! I know, right!

...

Wait, what? Meh, that's a problem for another time.

"Hey guys! I finished the project, we can work on yours now!"

"Fuck yeah! My suit's gonna be the best. After all, nobody is better than me!" Toph shouted, getting some weird looks.

Katara gave me a hug, and soon enough everyone joined in, giving me congratulations and speaking out about their excitement. Through this all, I couldn't help but think this is the happiest I've been in a long time.

Sorry for the long wait, I tried to make this slightly longer, but compared to other fanfics it's still short. I added something minor but important for later on other than the suits - tell me what you think it is! Again, I'm new to this so please don't be a bitch about it if you don't like it.
