🔮16🔮 Lie lie lie again

Mal and Ben took the lead as we followed them through the forest. We were silent the whole time and constantly ducking behind bushes or hiding behind trees in case Audrey was close by. Harry and I followed Mal and Ben and hid behind the tree they just left. I paused looking around the tree for any movement suddenly aware my ass was touching Harry's thighs, he seemed to notice it too as he placed his hand between my shoulder blades and shoved me away. I stumbled forwards then landed on my hands and knees on some twigs out in the open. The sounds of cracking may as well have been an explosion compared to the dead silence we were in before. Everyone froze in their tracks and glared at me in warning.

"It wasn't even my fault," I whispered and pouted.

I stood up wiping my hands on my legs and ran to crouch behind a rock away from Harry and his tree. Ben and Mal took the lead again and ran to a gate up ahead and slowly swung it open. They waited for us to catch up behind them but I stayed behind my rock until Harry ran up. I stuck my leg out and Harry fell flat on his face. I struggled to contain my laughter as I hopped over his face planted position and joined Evie. Harry eventually got up with his whole face and front covered in dirt and was the last to join us. My chest shook as I laughed silently and tears started to form at the sight of him. I stuck my tongue out at him for good measure and he returned with pouting like a child.

"Enough messing around!" Uma whispered harshly right behind Mal.

We filed into the garden then spread out to hide away from the view of the windows. Ben gave us the signal and we all followed him to the door. He tried it and it swung open. It wasn't even locked. We all walked in cautiously as Jay darted for the steps.

I looked around the little cottage that had very antique looking furniture.

"She's not upstairs," Jay announced as he re-emerged.

A knocking was heard and a door was rattling. Ben looked into the window of the door then swung it open to reveal a blonde, curly haired boy sitting with his knees to his chest.

"Chad?" Ben asked.

"Where am I?" He mumbled in a daze.

Ben reached to help him causing him flinch and yell, "no!"

Ben paused then tried again and Chad allowed him to help him stand up. He looked around at all of us confused but lingered on Harry a little longer because of his appearance. He even tilted his head to the side when he saw Harry. Seeming to catch himself he grabbed on to Ben's jacket and pulled him closer to himself.

"Ben? Ben! Oh!" He exclaimed as he invaded Ben's personal space and causing Ben to cast us an awkward look.

"She's gone huh? and the doors open I'm free," he mumbled while looking at us then bolted out the door yelling, "Freedom!"

"Freedom oh!" He shouted from outside the cabin.

Ben gave us the signal and Harry chuckled as he closed the cabinet door and we exited the cottage.

We trudged out the garden and Uma decided to open her mouth. I don't know if it's because it's been a really long day or that we still have no idea where Audrey is but I was pissed and so everyone was now an nuisance to be around.

"Let's get this Audrey chick taken care of already," Uma said.

Mall's annoying fake laughter rattled my ear drums.

"What do you say girl, time to wrap things up?" Uma turned to Mal and they bumped their fists.

I rolled my eyes just wishing to be in my dorm, snuggled up in my bed not having to deal with anyone's bullshit for a long, long while.
