Trigger warning! - Implications of an eating disorder
Third person POV:
"We would love to."
Wilbur was smiling so hard that it hurt after hearing her agree. Tommy nodded and gave a small smile.
"That's great!" Phil said, an excited smile spreading across his face, mirroring Wilbur's. "I will finish up the paperwork while Techno and Wilbur help you both pack."
Tommy and Y/n turned around silently, walking through the door and down the hall.
Techno and Wilbur followed without question.
The twins led their new siblings down the hall and through another door into a small bedroom. Directly under the only window were two twin sized beds that had been pushed together.
A bedside table had three thick books laying on it with a small lamp for light.
Tommy dropped to his stomach on the floor and pulled out two small, worn down backpacks from under the bed. He tossed one to Y/n and then walked towards the closet to grab the few clothes he owned, Y/n following shortly after.
It took roughly five minutes for the siblings to gather everything they owned since neither of them had much to begin with.
"Ready to go?" Wilbur asked, still smiling excitedly.
Tommy gave a small nod, his sister humming in agreement.
Techno led the way back to the front room where Phil was waiting, already finished with the paperwork.
Ms. Parkinson smiled sadly at Tommy and Y/n, opening her arms. "I'll miss you two."
Y/n hugged her and Tommy's eyes became watery but he kept his expression stoic.
"I'll miss you too," Y/n whispered into Ms. Parkinson's shoulder.
Technoblade's POV:
I watched Y/n embrace Ms. Parkinson and exchange a few words that I couldn't hear. My eyes softened slightly at the sight, remembering when I had first left.
A quiet sniffle caught my attention and I shifted my gaze downward towards Tommy.
"So, this will be a week long trial to figure out if Tommy and Y/n enjoy being part of your family," Ms. Parkinson says after releasing Y/n from the hug.
I looked back up.
Phil nods and smiles. "Thank you for everything,"
Ms. Parkinson smiled again, her eyes flashing gratefully. Whether it was because of what Phil said or because we were adopting them, I had no clue.
Phil walks towards the entrance, giving a small wave in farewell to Ms. Parkinson and heading towards the car, a silver Ford in one of the front parking spaces.
Phil unlocked the car and I opened the trunk, reaching for Tommy's bag so that I could put it in. He gripped the straps of the backpack and refused to let go.
"Don't worry, kid," I said in my usual monotone voice. "I'm just going to put it into the trunk."
Tommy seemed to relax a bit. "You're not going to take it, right?"
I shook my head. "Of course not."
He let go of the backpack and got in the middle seat of the car, climbing over his sister who had claimed the window seat in advance.
I got in the front seat as Wilbur got in the back next to Tommy and Y/n.
The car ride was silent for a long time.
"Dad, can we get food, I'm starving," Wilbur whined from the backseat.
Phil chuckled. "Sure we can. How about (random fast food place)?"
Wilbur nodded, looking back down at his phone.
"What about you three?" Phil asked, glancing at me and then the rear view mirror to look at the twins.
I hummed in agreement.
"I'm fine with that," Y/n called from the back, staring out the window.
Tommy grimaced which was weird to me, but it disappeared just as quickly as it came.
I probably imagined it, I thought, turning to look out my window.
Phil's POV:
I pulled into the drive thru and looked through the rear view, asking my kids what they wanted.
A/n: Yes he considers you and Tommy his kids too!
Wilbur looked up from his phone. "Can I get a burger with fries and a drink?"
"Me too," Techno murmurs, still looking out his window.
I nodded and relayed the order to the worker. I glanced back at Tommy who was whispering something in Y/n's ear. She gave him a smile and a small nod.
"Can I get chicken nuggets and fries to share with Tommy?" Y/n asked.
It was odd that they wanted to share, but I let it slide.
Maybe they ate earlier and just aren't that hungry, I thought, though I highly doubted it.
"Can I please add an order of fries and nuggets," I said to the intercom.
I made a mental note to watch their eating habits to make sure that they were doing alright.
I pulled up to the first window, paid, and then pulled up to the second window, collecting our food.
I pulled into a nearby parking lot and parked, handing out the food. "We'll stop here for a bit to finish our food and then head home."
Techno and Y/n hummed in sync and Wilbur and Tommy nodded. The next five minutes were spent eating in silence.
I checked the rear view mirror and saw Tommy nibbling on a fry and his sister rubbing his back in slow circles whispering softly. My heart melted a little and I nudged Techno with my elbow.
I nodded my head in the twin's direction and he followed my gaze. I saw his eyes soften slightly at the sight.
I turned back around and finished my food, starting the car.
The ride remained silent the rest of the way home, but it wasn't uncomfortable. It was a calm sort of silence that everyone seemed content with.
Tommy's POV:
Phil pulled into the driveway of a large two story house with big windows and a beautiful front lawn.
Come to think of it, I thought. The whole neighborhood looks nice.
I quickly grabbed my backpack out of the trunk before anyone else could, uncomfortable with the possibility of anyone taking it away.
Y/n appeared at my side, backpack in hand and slightly tense. I couldn't blame her, after all so was I.
"Ready?" I whispered low enough so that only she could hear.
She gave a small nod without looking at me, biting her lip softly. We followed Phil to the front door, side by side, with Wilbur and Techno trailing behind us.
Here we go.
A/n: This is a double update because I made you all wait for a little while, so I apologize.
The next chapter starts kicking things into action! The upcoming chapters will involve more characters, angst, and fluff.
Again, apologies for the wait.
